Hi all.

I’m wondering if i’m crazy to consider holding Millsap until he returns?

I drafted him in the 4th spot so i’m reluctant to drop him since he was picked so high, and i’m likely not gonna find someone who will equal what he can bring to the table on the wire. My assumption is that I can likely make at least 6th place to enter the finals. By then he should be back and give my team a lift (provided he comes back and plays at the level he did before he got hurt).

My other reservation for dropping him is that i’m in a shark league. Someone else is likely to pick him up and hold him if I do. So if I do drop him my aim would be to place higher in the regular season (hopefully first or second to get the bye week), and try to pick up the hot FA during that time.

I’m in a 9cat, 10tm, H2H league with 10WW drop/adds per week, no IR. I’m likely to be in 2nd or 3rd place by the end of this week. Also I just dropped Holmes for Olynyk (was trying to stash him so if I drop Millsap I may pick him back up, if not now then later). My full team is below:

Stephen Curry, Eric Bledsoe, Victor Oladipo, Joe Ingles, Allen Crabbe, Paul George, Draymond Green, James Johnson, Client Capela , Paul Millsap, Kelly Olynyk, Taurean Prince, T.J. Warren, Gorgui Dieng, Austin Rivers

TLDR: Should I:
- Drop Millsap now.
- Hold him until he returns. Or
- Hold him for as long as I can, but drop at first sign of slipping in the ranks.

Thoughts?

If you can make the playoffs with his dead weight roster spot, you hold him. Simple as that.

If you can't, you need to cut bait and figure out a way to get into the postseason.
