Hi,

I'm trading for curry. Any advice for this trade? I think is a good to go.

If you can get Curry without giving up a 1st rounder, you've won.

Is there any fear that in the 2 for 1 trades the team trading for steph or might be giving up too much? Or is the idea to make up the remaining stats on the wire? I recently traded for steph as well and gave up Blake and Middleton... but sometimes I wonder if having depth is better that a top guy...love to hear the different schools of thought

The typical school of thought is if you can turn a couple of lower round guys into a higher round guy, you do it. Yes, a lot of times you can make up stats from the wire or having a "revolving door" policy on the bottom of your roster and keep picking up the hot hand.

I understand what you're saying too though. Two solid guys can be hard to give up in place of one elite guy. Case in point, I was offered Porzingis for Drummond and D'angelo Russell. Most people would take the Porzingis side, but it is tough when you know the two you're giving up are solid. Kind of like putting all your money on the big bet. What if that guy goes down at some point?

Given those two schools of thought, I think there are certain players I would accept for two of my lower-round players any day of the week. Curry is one of them. Harden, Cousins, Durant, Antetokounpo and Towns are a handful more that come to mind.

IMHO, it really depends on your team/league makeup. Last year, I traded Giannis at the deadline for 3 guys. It took me from 10th-11th to grabbing the last playoff spot. I also traded 3 top guys for Durant in another league and won the league. Having a top guy is definitely a nice security blanket, but when you start racking up those 2-7, 3-6 score losses, you have to roll the dice to get the depth you need.
