I drafted Kyrie 11th in the first round(12 team/9 cat H2H standard Yahoo league). I'm in 1st place (barely...haha), but I'm wondering if I might've bought the Kyrie hype and overrated him. Should I be trying to move him for a guy like Wall or Embiid?
I think Kyrie is underperforming right now. This is probably his low point for the season, so I wouldn't say you rated him too high. I have Wall as my first pick in one league, and I don't regret it...I think I picked 10th or 11th, so he was about as good as I could do. If I knew what I know now, I would've reached a bit lower and grabbed Cousins...but I digress.
I wouldn't sell Kyrie cheap, but if you can get Wall for him, I think I'd do it...almost winning assists single-handedly with one guy is nice...he also gets a lot of blocks for a PG and high-end steals. A lot of Kyrie's value comes from stats that get overlooked though...his percentages are typically great...and for as much as he handles the ball, his TOs are very low...might be the lowest among the elite PGs.
Thanks, Capt. Wall went 10th and Boogie went 12th, so I'm sort of kicking myself...haha.
I think I expected Kyrie to be higher in scoring and assists, but he's doing well across the board, just not
dominating in any one thing like I would've liked. Of course, I may need to give him another few weeks to get a picture of the real Kyrie. Thanks for the perspective, dude. I needed it.
Not Embiid -- injury risk is too much. For Wall, yeah, I'd do that.
