Why does Kemba get more love than Trae? Kemba is in a new situation, FG% lie for both, points could go either way, close in 3’s made, Trae will undoubtedly have more assists, steals probably around the same. Not sure why Kemba is getting such s huge bump in a new situation meanwhile Trae could improve and will be given every opportunity to do so. Discuss.
I think a lot of the issue is 8 vs 9 cat. Expectation of a huge gap in TOs between the 2 guys. And can Trae keep shooting 43-45% or will he drop back closer to 40?
Assuming an 8 cat league or most people punt TO anyway, would you give Trae the edge?
I like Trae better than Kemba this season as long as you can absorb the additional turnovers.
I agree. I’m just can’t figure out why Kemba is ranked higher in an 8 cat. Kemba will be counted on a lot less in Boston with more surrounding talent.
I put Kemba higher because he's got a proven track record. Trae probably has more upside but could also fall off a cliff.
Track record is usually a good indicator, but Kemba is in a new situation and I wouldn’t put him as a “superstar” ala Lebron who will put up huge numbers in any situation. He’s good but there’s a little more risk than normal IMO. I suppose he has a safe floor though while Trae has upside and opportunity but carries some risk.
I don't think the bump in Kemba's ADP is warranted, but Trae is the better value here. As long as you can absorb the turnovers, the high assist rate and across the board stats makes him a solid 2nd round pick. I don't think that Kembai should go any later than the 3rd round but it's Trae's high assist rate and upside that makes him the better value. He did have a pre season game where he had 0 turnovers so it could be a sign of things to come. I picked KAT, Kyrie, Ayton, and Kembai in the 4th round and I feel like that was an absolute steal.
Kemba is due for a regression with team change.
