Hey Guys,

I’m in a competitive 10 team 9 CAT H2H keeper league. I want to get your thoughts on a player you’d try to trade for now that you think is having a perhaps a “down-year” to target because he has a great long-term keeper outlook (I.e. top 40 player value over next say 3 years).

Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if you've done this lately but I suggest perhaps doing a brief podcast on this question and bring on one of your dynasty guys to elaborate a little on it. That way we can hear some of the reasoning and logic behind their pick(s) and possibly apply that to this year as well.

No pressure, just a thought. Thanks again.

Something like "Top 50 player value over the next 3, 5 or (dare I say) 10 years that we can trade for now for less"

OR

"Here's who you need to pick up now that has top-50 value long-term while you still play to win this year"

OR even

"Here's who you need to pick up now that has top-50 value long-term value while you tank this year"

Hi grifreb
I would recommend Terry Rozier. His numbers are down because of his inconsistent minutes. Boston will not go into next season with Rozier as the back up point for multiple reasons. He will probably be moved and start for another team or if some of the rumors are true Boston may move Kyrie and then Rozier takes over the team. Good luck!

In a 10-team league, I'd go for KP or Oladipo. Injured guys on competitive teams will be tough to hold. Both of those guys should fit in your top-40 range request.

Good suggestions - thanks guys.

Off-topic questions but would you do Ayton and a 6th round pick for Russell Westbrook if you were in my shoes?

Thanks,
Grif

Wow! That's a rough one! Ayton will probably be a 24 & 12 guy for the next 10 years, however, it's Westbrook (arguably the best fantasy producer of all time). I don't know brother, I would probably go for it! Westbrook probably has 3-5 more years of being a stud.
You have a tough decision there man! Maybe try to get back an 8th or 9th round pick with Westy.
Good luck!
