I'm contemplating on my keeper choices in my 10 team, 17-men(12 active, 5 bench) H2H league.
We keep 7, and here are the top-10 on my team according to yahoo pre-rank:
LBJ
Butler
John Collins
Thomas Bryant
Steven Adams
Hassan Whiteside
Ricky Rubio
Wendell Carter Jr.
Jonathan Isaac
Marcus Smart
The players in bold are my current selection. I've decided to skip over Bryant and Whiteside so I can have WCJ and Isaac's upside. I have major doubts on Whiteside's outlook this season, so not really considering him. Didn't get a chance to see Bryant play, but I think yahoo has him valued too highly. Another reason is position eligibility, we have two C's plus two Util, so I can technically fit all 4 center-only players on to my active roster, but I don't think that leaves me with much flexibility.
What are your thoughts on these players? If you were to pick two from Bryant, Whiteside, WCJ and Isaac, who would you choose?
Thanks,
Chris
Whiteside is a 'no' for me.
I'd probably go Bryant over Isaac. The Magic brought in extra help in the frontcourt, and that worries me. Though the long-term outlook for Isaac is definitely better, the THIS YEAR outlook is probably favoring Thomas.
LBJ still (for now)
Collins
Bryant
Isaac
WCJ
Smart
Rubio/Adams - Rubio IS older but Adams hurts your FT% and you have 3 bigs.
Eric, no love for Jimmy Butler!?!?! or you just missed him

For me, I go Bryant & WCJ. Don't sell Bryant short, he will compile some solid numbers this year now that he has been handed the starting center role. WCJ just has so much upside it's tough to let him go. Isaac just slightly misses the cut for me but has potential for sure. Whiteside is flat out a head case, no thanks.
Good luck!
My picks would be:
Lebron James
Jimmy Butler
John Collins
Thomas Bryant
Ricky Rubio
Wendell Carter Jr.
Jonathan Isaac
I’m not much of a Butler fan. Correct. I was also trying to stagger your guys by age. LBJ takes that oldie slot. I also figured you would be able to find a young stud who’s got a brighter future than Butler this season. If you’re locked him, that’s fine. I’d take Anna’s list above if that’s the case.
Thank you guys for all of your input, it was great help.
My big question was on Bryant, whom I have not watched much, and you guys gave me the confidence to go forward with him.
For now, I have swapped out Isaac for Bryant, so the list is basically what Anna has.
To answer a couple questions:
Coach, my original picks out of the four were WCJ and Isaac for their upside.
Eric, thanks for the clarification, staggering the old guys is an interesting thought, I guess that's why you are a pro and I'm not. I'm going to give it some thought, as I still have some time before it locks.
Thanks guys!!
