So I have Jokic in a Keeper that only costs me last round value. I'll have the second overall pick in 10 team league that is a modified 9-cat.
Who would YOU target with the second pick to pair with Jokic and WHY? Anyone you would NOT target?
Who knows who will be available for me at the end of round 2.
Thank you!
Can't go wrong with any of Durant, Curry or Giannis. I like Curry personally because he'll give you those sweet 3s while shooting well from the field. Durant gives you solid block numbers and 3s as well, but not at the level Curry does. Between those two it's up to you to decide on how you want to build your team, but it's a good dilemma to have.
I wouldn't worry much about pairing. ANY pair of 1st rounders is going to put you in the driver's seat. For instance:
If you pair KD with Jokic: you'll be lacking in ... uh ... assists maybe? Not really. Maybe steals a tiny bit? You can easily target those in rounds 3 or 4.
If you pair Steph ... maybe you need a blocks boost. Get a shot-blocker later.
If you pair KAT, Giannis ... you get the idea. Don't worry so much about filling every stat bucket right out of the chute. Get a great player, then fill in some stats later on once you've already built a team that's going to crush 7 or 8 of the categories easily.
This is a great dilemma, right up there with Nelly ft Kelly Rowland.
Personally I would try and get Curry or Durant. The 3's you will collect while keeping elite %s will open a lot of doors later.
If you go Curry, maybe look for blocks next. Someone like Myles, Porzingis or even Embiid will keep your %s in check while helping your blocks out.
If you go Durant, you can easily find some 3-&-D specialists later on to help out with triples and steals. So this will probably give you more flexibility to limit the stat searching you will need to do.
As always though, BPA is the best approach in these early rounds so, like Drake said, "don't think about it too much".
