Hi Guys,

I'm in a 10 team, 9cat HtH league and I'd like to open up another slot in my roster via a 2for1 trade. Based on my roster, I'm pretty much punting blocks. The league is typically slow to pickup hot players off the wire and I want the ability to get one and/or stream a final slot. Does this sound like a decent deal on my end?

Jim Johnson? The Braves reliever?

Depends on what players you're trading. Generally in shallower leagues (less than 12 teams) the team getting 1 better player wins 2-for-1 deals because the wire is stronger.

Sorry if it wasn't clear based on the thread title, but I'm trading James Johnson and Jaylen Brown for his Gary Harris. My team has less emphasis on blocks

I almost like Johnson more than Harris. Is there anyone with less value you could pair with Brown?

Yes and no. Here is my full roster. The problem is the guys with less value don't have name recognition and other teams probably don't value them correctly yet. I'm trying to upgrade slots via a 2for1 because I will have to drop someone once CP3 is back and/or if I want to stream and I hate to lose any of these guys as they all have decent value

Nikola Jokic
Chris Paul (IR)
Kyle Lowry
Paul Millsap
Victor Oladipo
Tobias Harris
Isaiah Thomas (IR)
James Johnson
Joe Ingles
Lou Williams
Justin Holiday
Thaddeus Young
Josh Richardson
Kelly Olynyk
Jeremy Lamb
Jaylen Brown

I'd say almost any 2 guys below Johnson on that list would be an okay pairing.

Gary Harris isn't necessarily an upgrade over Johnson. Harris certainly has more upside if everything clicks, but Johnson has top-50 upside himself. Harris may also have his upside limited by new teammates or injuries. Harris is good guy to try and buy low right now, but moving Johnson and Brown for him isn't seizing that opportunity well. If you want to get aggressive on a 2-1, try for Kawhi. You'll prob have to move someone like Tobias and JJ.

Thanks for the input guys. Our league is very conservative about trades and tends to undervalue the non-flashy, quiet value guys so it makes finding a winning trade hard since I end up with all those guys. I'll keep trying

What do you guys think about DeRozan for Tobias Harris & Jaylen Brown in a league with the above settings? Derozan seems like a nice guard to have when ignoring blocks. I'd really like to snag Holmes off the wire but my worst players are Lou Williams and Olynyk which seems counter productive

Nah, don't ever trade down in a 10-team league.
