Is Huerter worth picking up and having over Luke Kennard?

He’s been sitting on the WW, but I’m curious if it would be the best choice for ROS and since the recent news of Young and his ankle.

I understand Kennard’s value is tied to Griffin being out, but you think he will maintain it even when Griffin returns?

They’re kind of the same player, 3s and low-end points. I wouldn’t say Kennard is tied to Griffin in any way, as Detroit could use Kennard’s scoring off the bench.

Huerter has the capability to add a little more to the stat sheet, in low end rebounds and assists, but Atlanta has been a bit of a crowded rotation of irrelevant players, making it hard for anyone not named Young or Collins to have fantasy value.

To me, this is a coin flip, and you’ll probably end up dropping whichever guy you choose anyway when a new hot free agent emerges.

If you’re looking to take advantage of Trae’s injury for a week or two or however long he’s out, I might roll the dice on Cam Reddish, as the only guy really remaining who can handle the ball (Evan Turner is also currently down and out).

I say Huerter is better. Even with limited minutes he has 12-team value. good ft%, can hit the three, gets dimes, even some defensive stats.

Hm okay. That would make sense about them being the same player essentially. Yeah, I was drawn to Huerter more because of the assists he would be able to provide. Would Hunter be more viable than Reddish? They both don’t seem to be doing a whole lot. I dropped Hunter last week too.

Huerter is overrated. Kennard is Kennard. Captain is 100% right - they'll both end up back on the waiver wire soon enough in anything smaller than 14 teams. Streamers!!!

Alright thanks for clearing that up.

Last question, Kleber over Baynes? Any thoughts? Or are both also going to end up streamers when Ayton is back and Powell dusts off rust?

I'm big on Huerter, especially when he gets more minutes. Assuming that happens I guess. We shall see......

I think Huerter is decent. He is working back from injury.
Kleber will be a 25 minute guy that's ok.
