Dan,

I would like to know the argument for weekly changes leagues vs daily changes leagues.

My friend and I are in the H2H cash 1 league but it looks like it will be weekly changes and we have always done daily. At first we were completely against it and wanted to leave but we have talked a little and are thinking we might stay... Then I thought why not write you and ask positives and negatives to see if we would like it or not.

Please let us know.

- John

Hey John -

We actually only had 1 league last year with daily moves, and that was roto with a games cap.

Daily moves leads to roster churn, where the team that can burn through the most free agents can usually win. Weekly requires more careful planning, and also minimizes the need to check to make sure your team didn't reset or glitch or whatever every day.

Most folks in these leagues are in 5+ leagues, so it makes it a little easier to manage and learning to balance the games-played versus player rank in terms of who you start is also a fun new challenge for you to conquer.

My brain is a little on the fritz after the past week (dealing with a tragedy), so let me know if that didn't make as much sense written out as it did in my head.

Thanks.

That makes sense but we are not doing roto. We are doing H2H with 4 moves a week which we feel is much more strategic as you get 4 adds a week to try everything possible to attack your opponents weaknesses. Where as weekly we feel you set your roster mon and just hope for the best. You don't even have to look at your team till sun to see if you are winning. I understand people in 5 plus leagues though.

We are only in 2 including yours.

Is their anyway you can see if their is interest for a 12 team 9 cat H2h daily changes league?

If not we can stick it out and see how we feel about the weekly changes but we dont think we will like it as much.

And I know I listen to the pod. My condolences

I'm pretty disappointed to learn the cash roto is weekly, though I guess I should've asked.

We're trying to keep it really easy this year. Next year we may expand options, but in an effort to make sure we don't have like 16 leagues with 5 people each, we're going with a more standardized set of rules

One thing not touched on is the virtual league depth. In weekly changes you just need solid starters and bench guys to offset injuries or to maximize games. In general, you play your start your best guys while healthy. In daily changes all roster spots are active to some degree. So a 12 team, 13 roster spot league is effectively a deeper league if daily changes are used.

Here's the thing: I personally like daily leagues when I have a boatload of money on the line. I like to have that extra level of control. But for smaller money or free leagues, weekly has its own set of challenges that are fun, and also limit the chaos a little.

I agree with Dan. I play in over 15 leagues a season. I make sure a third of them are weekly changes leagues.

I guess I enjoy the chaos. I'm usually in around 6 or so leagues and for me, at ~$50/league, the small money leagues are kind of big money in terms of my disposable income, but it's all good.

Also, I'm way better at daily leagues so I'm biased.
