Riiight...

So i've been roped into a second league this year. Just for fun... it's a H2H (I have always played roto), Snake (have always played auction), on ESPN (have only used yahoo), 9cat (finally something consistent!). The league works as a weekly 12tm roster, with daily rotations within that team. 7 changes per week, but only 7 active players (not bench) accrue stats per day game. (I miss the simplicity of Roto already...).

Current plan is to basically ignore the differences between Roto and H2H and just leverage the B150 to build a strong all around Roto team in the draft then tweak as required from there. I am working on the theory that if i have a solid all round team i should be able to tailor my daily squad to pick on strengths as required to win weekly matchups. Plus some strategic streaming through the latter bench slots.

Only 2 questions:
1. Am i setting myself up for failure with this draft approach, should i put a bit of a lean into the team build towards 5 cats?
2. Are there any players (top 50) who should receive significant (more than a few ranks) bumps or penalties when going from Roto to H2H.

Thanks!!

Draft for balance (like roto), trying to win as many categories as possible. Once you make the playoffs or are at least guaranteed of being playoff-bound, then you can pivot towards focusing on 5-6 categories.

I started with Roto and I must say that it is the better foundation as it focuses on overall value (like the B150). Focus on it, like many ahead of you have done before, and crush that league with extreme prejudice.

Good luck!

Agree with Eric with the caveat that you can punt cats successfully punt categories in h2h; not so much in roto.

Also, I always pay attention to playoff schedule in H2H.

Lastly, older/oft injured guys have increased risk of random DNPs or getting shut down for h2h playoffs, a consideration that's not really there for roto

Thanks Chef,

Had a read of your H2H article too in the draft guide... some great stuff there.

H2H playoffs are weeks directly after the allstar break in this league (wks 20/21 then 22/23 for final.) Should avoid too many pre-playoffs rest days hopefully.
