Alright so I'm kind of in a unique scenario, I'm in a family and friends 12 team, 15 man roster league with an IR spot. I'm wanting to make a trade with a family member that obviously I win, but without just outright ripping him off. We are in different situations with different needs given that I am in 1st place and a virtual lock for the playoffs, and he is in 8th and slipping and can't afford to waste time waiting on injured players. So we are thinking on a deal for his Gobert. He has 0 depth and there are 3 guys he could drop instantly that should already be on the waiver wire IMO (Yogi, Jack, Tyrone Wallace). He also isn't someone who scans the wire everyday, just wants 2-3 guys he can set his roster and be done with.

So I was thinking of offering him something like Lamb, Ellington, and Smart for Gobert. He is instantly better tomorrow, I win in the long run. Or is that too much of a ripoff?

What about Lamb, Ellington, Smart and Mirotic for Gobert and Ariza? Does that make it better or worse?

Basically how much trade value should Gobert have right now? Obviously his ceiling is huge, but he's only averaged 11 and 9 with 2 blocks and bad free throw shooting in a large enough sample to atleast consider. Plus he's hurt. I also have tj warren I could mix in there. Just need some insight, sorry for the novel!

Gobert, while hurt, should still net at least SOMEONE inside the top-50. If you went Niko, Lamb and a top-75 guy, that might be a bit closer.

As it stands, you're offering mostly waiver scraps for a 2nd rounder.

No offense, but it's a bit of a lopsided scenario. Offer him something like a Capela + Niko, then we're closer to fair. Cheers!

Thanks as always guys! Just needed a general framework, have had trouble assessing Gobert's value because of the slow start/injuries, I go to you guys for your objective honesty. I actually just flipped TJ Warren and Ellington for Dwight howard (from the one guy in the league I have no ties to) and so now I feel like I can trade Howard for Gobert? The way I see it is I win two smaller trades rather than massively win one big trade?

And I was able to keep lamb so I could even package him with Dwight to even it out even further.

Now you can add Lamb, Mirotic to Howard for Gobert. Sounds good.
