Hi!
Commissioning my first roto league on yahoo. Still ironing out the kinks and my faab settings weren't set in a way that I intended it to. For those who have experience using this type of system, which are your preferred settings for a daily league with a games cap? Is this even a viable setting for my league format? My goal is not to completely discourage streaming, but to at least have some sort of consequence for the adding/dropping of players. I also wanted to even out the playing field so night owls and early risers don't have a distinct advantage over those who aren't constantly watching the waiver wire. Thanks for the feedback in advance!
For what it's worth, one of my longest-running dynasty leagues has is set up so waivers run at 12:00pm ET every day, and each team has a FAAB budget of $100. That way, everyone is on an even playing field regardless of time zone, work schedule, etc. Not as many guys are working the wire religiously since it is dynasty, but those settings seem to work pretty well. If a big name hits the wire, you can expect to spend at least $30-40 of your FAAB on that one pick up in our league if you want to realistically have a shot at the player, so that creates a pretty real consequence to spending $1-2 every couple of days to stream someone in.
I'd imagine that in a roto league, streaming is going to be inherently discouraged early in the season to some extent since you don't want to take many starts away from your stud players, but I'd still recommend setting it so your waivers clear at a set time with a FAAB budget to make waiver wire moves more interesting.
Thank gooodness someone jumped in, cuz this one is not my wheelhouse! Haha
Thanks for the input, I appreciate it!
