Team is steaming along well, currently equal first with 9/10 pts from FG/FT/Treys/Stls and 6pts from assists and pts. 10tm 9cat roto. Assists will rebound when CP3 is back, and TO likely to drop but i am weak in Boards and Blocks.
Team is:
PG - CP3
SG - Beal
G - Teague
SF - Ingles
PF - Giannis
F - Covington
C - Jokic
C - Nurkic
UTIL - Hardaway Jr
UTIL - Prince
BN - Chriss
BN - D Fox
BN - Markeiff Morris
Traded for Fox to bolster assists late season given CP3 absemce, but it looks like i'm keeping in touch without himso looki g to drop (or move) him for some boards and/or blocks where I am slipping behind.
Is it worth picking up one of the following off the wire?
- Olynyk
- Chandler
- Henson
- O'Quinn
Or should i just hold Fox to trade after he runs hot for a week? (This could take forever with the Kings!)
Dieng is also on the wire and firmly on the watch list.
As a Kings fan, I'd hold. They're benching Hill like once a week so Fox should get better and better as the season goes on.
Tyson is great for streaming boards
Anthony, sorry to hear your a kings fan. Hard season ahead... Im sure Fox will improve and get minutes ocer the season, bit they are paying Hill too much to just relegate him to a bench role. So im not sure Fox will develop into a high value trade chip long term.
Chandlers an option for boards (not many blocks), and presents a good solution while Chriss rides my bench waiting fir game time. If chandler goes down Chriss should get minutes.
Then Kelly O presents an all around option (but need mins).
Henson for blocks for another 7-10 days, then Chandler for boards until PHX decides to move on (presumably some time later this year, but who knows). Then Olynyk for all around numbers.
I feel like you already knew the answer to your own question 😉
I'd hold on to Fox. Dropping him would mean another manager will swoop in and you'd never see him again. We all knew that when you took him that it would be a while before he ripens. His end of season value should be better than those abovementioned bigs.
Indeed Dan....<instert podcast plug here>. If i move him there are some obvious options.
Eriks comment speaks to the real issue. Traded E.Gordon for Fox based purely on long term upside, so i am hesitant to throw him. Given i likely wont need his statset (injuries to key guards aside) the question then becomes one of holding Fox to trade for a Big in the 2nd half of the season vs throwing him now and riding the wire for boards/blocks.
By my estimate, In a 10 team league, id need to be landing a top 40-50 big to make up the counting stats i am after. Ie. 2 blocks a game for half a season vs 1 block a game all season.
Is his upside really that good with Hill around?
Probably not, though he could be a top-50 guy for a month or something if they just sit everyone else.
Starting to wish i had pulled the trigger on Henson yesterday....cest la vie.
Yeah, how could we have known? Can't beat yourself up over it. Henson looked like a 2-week plug until 8am today.
Though, you guys all know how much I loathe rookies in fantasy...
John Collins hit the wire today. Fox is still my go to waiver guy (particularly with Chriss showing signs if life).
A worthy pickup, or hold Fox?
I see Collins as similar to Chriss last season. Could blow up if he gets his fouls in check.
I'd go Collins over Fox simply because blocks are hard to find. Both are upside plays, and who knows if either pans out, but Collins has rarer stats and probably a better path to 20-25 mins.
