The draft guide ADP data sounds really great. Looking forward to seeing the tracking.

However i am predominantly in Auction drafts. Can you confirm if ADV (Average Draft Value) is included in the ADP analysis?

Already seeing some significant gaps between Initial projection and ADV in yahoo mock drafts.

Thanks in advance.

Auction draft values will be posted in a separate article. ADP is for snake drafts (8/9 cat).

Thanks Eric.

I was referring to the ADP tracking tool which maps change in ADP over time in an attempt to estimate CDP.

I know there will be auction values posted. Player auction values are the equivalent of player rankings.

Will there be discussion of change in Average Draft Cost over time (based on a similar dataset to the ADP change over time)? This would be a good tool to estimate player costs and plan team builds going i to drafts. Also good to help identify where differentials between cost and value would lie.

There will be regular ADP reports in the draft guide that show the changing market sentiments on players. There will not, however, be any articles specifically tracking the varying going rates of players over time. You can use the ADP reports to project market forces that will affect player prices.

Thanks Eric.

Dan, any plans for an auction draft strategy podcast? Id be interested to hear your (and any illustrious guests) opinions.

Specifically any ideas for draft prep and/or in draft strategy.

1. Value vs Cost
2. Thoughts on changing strategy if you can get a discount.
3. How critical is it to get a first rounder? Can an entire team full of 20-70 ranks win (rotovsH2H).
4. Stars/scrubs vs a more balanced approach.

Oh, its a deep deep rabbit hole.

I think I can add two cents since I play in auction league 9 cat roto. At least in roto, it is more difficult to win with early-mid round guys only, bc you have less flexibility and often need to semi punt. Especially now that there are much more serviceable guys towards the later rounds. First round guys make thing much easier due to multi cat contributions. At least that’s been my experience. I usually try to get one first rounder (even if I pay a little more) and see if I can snag a early second rounder. Then I just bargain hunt based on needs

Yeah, that is the approach i have taken to date too. Did a mock the other day and had net connection issues so missed the top 20.

It put me in such a strong cash position i could bully people with excess cash and grab pretty much anyone i wanted.

Ended up with a really well rounded team of 20-70 rank guys in a 10tm league. Getting it done inside the top 75 when the draft goes to 130 adds real depth and would set up well for 2:1 trades through the season. Yahoo draft prediction was for 1st place (for what its worth).
