What's up Hoopers. I'm available for a few hours until lineups lock and here to help with any questions or concerns. Regarding DFS and tonight's slate. I would like to do this more often when I have the free time off from work so let's get started.
Which teams’ starters are likely to play greater than 20 minutes tonight?
I'd expect Thibs to roll his starters out close to 24 minutes. Pistons will be on the cusp, Casey mentioned limiting the starters but would not say a number of minutes. My guess is right around twenty as he said he wanted everyone dressed to see the court. I feel comfortable with most of Chicago. Bench bigs and guards should be around 20. I'm worried about the Bucks and Knicks and Doc Rivers mentioned resting two veterans tonight (Lou Williams ruled out already). That leaves one more we do not know about just yet. Sometimes when coaches rest players for an entire game as oppose to limiting the entire team's minutes it benefits the other starters. OKC is kind of a wildcard at this point. We know Westy is not playing and last season a lot of the new faces saw close to 25 minutes.
Great idea!
What can we expect from the Clippers as far as a rotation tonight? So far they’ve only played the game against an Australian club.
Lou Williams has already been ruled out and Rivers wants to rest another veteran. This could be just about anyone but I feel safe with Tobias Harris. Milos has been ruled out as well so the safest spots to look may be the young guards/Harris. Gortat is in a great spot, but he could be rested and I think we have better center options on the board.
Harrel is in play as well as he has always been a great point per minute produce.
Are any particular rookies getting undervalued heading into the regular season?
Who do you feel most comfortable with at pg on fd? Russell and Lavine?
For DFS purposes I'd say JJJ and Knox could produce counting stats quickly early on. Doncic will too, but he will draw immediate ownership. I think we will see Carter and Sexton sooner rather than later. If you are talking season long I am high on JJJ, Knox, Doncic (love that he is playing the 4) and Ayton.
If it is a GPP I would lean Russell. Likely to chuck more shots in the same allotted time and a better matchup as well. Napier is out and Atkinson mentioned wanting to experiment with Russell alongside Dinwiddie again so maybe that buys a few extras minutes. These two teams met during last year's preseason and Russell only played 20 minutes in the first game and 26 in the second. I would also say base it on your lineup construction. Hope that helps.
Nets Starting Lineup: Russell, Crabbe, LeVert, Carroll and Allen.
Knicks get a big bump after a recent tweet from Knicks Writer Steve Popper: "Same starters for Knicks as Monday- but will start them the second half, upping minutes."
Speaking of Crabbe, what are the odds he makes 200+ threes again this season?
I do like Levert and Allen today. A bit hesitant on Russell; I think he’ll try too hard.
