I was really confused during the preseason as to why Derrick Favors was getting hyped so much and was getting drafted in the 70s and 80s when he’s been a late round guy in the past. He’s been dropped in our ten team league and I’m wondering if it’s worth dropping R. Holmes to pick him up.
I would. I don't know why he was getting all the hype either. He went all the way to 87 in my league. I knew the pelicans were going to run a fast pace offense and Favors is not the center that can keep up with that pace. Holmes, Howard, Frank the tank, and Zellar are all bigs worth looking into
Just playing devils advocate, Holmes seems like he has higher upside than Favors. With Favors I feel like what you see is what you get.
I wouldn't mess with Favors until he actually does something.
I like Favors but we need to see how long he's gonna be out before a stash.
I think Favors is a smart pickup. He will out perform Holmes for the long run this season.
People were high on Favors in the preseason because he was putting up early round numbers a few seasons ago before playing second fiddle to Gobert, and the idea was that he could go back to putting up those numbers on the Pels.
would you drop favors for Zach Collins or joe ingles in (9cat DD instead of turnovers)
Hm.
Yes, probably would for Ingles if not for that double-double category. Favors still has the best chance of the bunch to get those (IF HEALTHY)
thanks Dan. what about picking up pj washinton for favors?
I'm fine with that, too. Favors has the higher ceiling if he can get right but PJ seems to have a decent role locked up even if his game translates more to late-round value.
