It’s our daily DFS live thread, hosted by up to 5 DFS experts!
These threads will provide daily news/updates and act as a sounding board for new players and experts alike. They will also be a spot where we can link to interesting shows (like the one Coach, Mike and Andrew H. are putting out every day) or other info we feel is worth highlighting.
Myles and Andy G., two DFS experts that are going to be monitoring this thread (and the rest of the HB forums) as moderators here in this 2019-2020 season.
Here’s today’s show: DRUMMOND HEADLINES DAY 2
Wanted to give a shoutout to Coach and shark for the directive given on those nights late for going with a record for myself Going 6-2 on the night in cash Head to head. It’s really a winning strategy going with this combo on a nightly basis. Despite the shortcoming of gasol it was a good night just using the players they recommended and plugging in one guy as an adjustment on FantasyDraft. Always make sure to review my lineups but tonight it’s gonna be much more of a challenge with so many options so I will have to sort through it all

Hi... new here..
You made a reference to Coach and Shark.
Where do I read them? Or are they on the podcast??
Also can you give a quick primer on your terms— assume smash means play. Etc etc
Thanks...
Another strong thread!
Hey John
It’s a podcast and if you go to the top post of the thread, I’ve linked the podcast where it says today's show
John,
You can find Coach on the daily podcast.
Smash = great spot, high upside
Fade/Pass = ignore, suggestion is to take no players from game/team
Value = inexpensive play that allows you flexibility to pay up in other positions
One off = taking a single player from a team/game
Thanks! Found the podcast.
They mention GPP and Cash games... what’s the difference?
John,
GPP (Guaranteed Prize Pool) - Really big prize pool with top heavy payouts. The players you want in GPPs are ones who have a moderate floor (minimum avg points) with huge upside (lots of points). Players with high variables are generally good GPP picks. Some will say you want about a 5x-6x value. That means if a player costs $7000, you want them to score between 35-42 points to return value. In GPPs, ownership is a big factor in lineup construction because a smaller percentage of lineups will hit the money line. So you'll need a higher score and a decent amount of low owned players to get in the money. If you have all high owned players and they do well, your lineup will be similar to the field. Players projected to be highly owned are referred to as chalk.
Cash/Multipliers/50-50s - These are contests like double-ups ($2 entry, $4 to the winners), triple-ups ($5 entry, $15 to the winners), quintuple-ups ($5 entry, $25 to the winners) & 50/50s (50% of all entries will pay out). In these games you want consistent players who have high floors (again consistent minimum avg, low volatility). You don't always need high upside players to hit the money line. Ownership doesn't matter as much since you only need to beat half the field. These are good contests to build your bankroll (the amount in your site account you use to enter contests) and refine your strategy to be successful in the big GPPs.
Hope this helps.
Great stuff guys, can’t wait to see some of our pre season darlings in a real game, rolling with Herro and PJ tonight good luck all
