Lamb OUT
Jeremy Lamb (hip) will not play on Monday vs. the Pistons.
This is Lamb's second game in a row on the shelf and he did not practice over the weekend. The Pacers did list him as questionable prior to this, so he's likely day-to-day. Explosive third-year guard Edmond Sumner will get another shot in the starting lineup and has some streaming appeal in deeper leagues. In his last outing, Sumner had 10 points, one dime and one rebound in 17 minutes.
Joel Embiid (right ankle sprain) participated in Monday's morning shootaround.
While this is a good sign, Embiid remains questionable on the latest injury report. With Embiid out of the lineup on Saturday, Kyle O'Quinn got 14 minutes off the bench with two points, six rebounds and two blocks, so he'll be on the radar as a boom-or-bust streamer if Embiid can't go. Matisse Thybulle would also get a bump as one of the best sources of defensive stats in fantasy basketball.
According to K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports, the Bulls are "closely monitoring" Otto Porter’s hip.
His hip has been a recurring issue for several years, so it's nice to finally know why the Bulls have been load managing him this season. It also explains why he looks so sluggish to begin the year, as he's averaging 7.3 points on 26.1% shooting. His fantasy owners should be very concerned, especially if he can't get it going vs. the Knicks Monday night.
Zhaire Smith has been assigned to the G League.
Smith hasn't touched the floor for the 76ers this season with Matisse Thybulle outplaying him in camp.
Rodney McGruder (ankle) is out again on Monday vs. the Hornets.
Coach Doc Rivers said he's not sure when McGruder will be ready so this was the expectation. He's safe to leave on the wire pretty much everywhere.
Jimmy Butler (personal) will be in the lineup for Tuesday vs. the Hawks.
Coach Erik Spoelstra said he has no plans to ease him back into things either. "He's our guy," Spoelstra said. "He'll be playing. I'm not planning on resting him." With Butler back from a three-game absence, the expectation is that he'll slide into the starting lineup alongside Kendrick Nunn with Tyler Herro moving to the bench.
