Thanks for Tuning in!
Jaren Jackson Jr. (right knee soreness) has been ruled out of Monday's game vs. Houston, but he's day-to-day. JJJ underwent some testing but everything came back clean according to coach Taylor Jenkins. He's just dealing with soreness and will be held out tonight as a precaution. With JJJ out, Brandon Clarke and Jonas Valanciunas both get a bump in value, and the Grizzlies could give Bruno Caboclo his first extended look of the season as well.
Russell Westbrook will be rested on Monday vs. Memphis. This was the original plan on the second night of a back-to-back, but coach Mike D'Antoni almost changed his mind since Westy played just 26 minutes in Sunday's blowout loss. Maybe Eric Gordon can finally get it going with Westbrook out, while James Harden has an absurd 47.9 usage rate with Westbrook off the court.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr continues to rave about rookie Eric Paschall. "Eric’s powerful, confident and he’s got an interesting game," Steve Kerr said. "He’s an undersized four-man that can put the ball on the floor and bull past people." On Saturday, Paschall became the Warriors’ first 2nd-round rookie to score 20 twice in a three-game span since Gilbert Arenas in 2002. The Warriors have been running a lot of offense through him with Draymond Green (finger) out a few games.
Derrick Rose (right hamstring) is listed as out for Monday's game against the Wizards. That will make two straight missed games for Rose, who also sat out on Saturday with the same injury. He's been playing really well, but injuries and Rose always seem to go hand in hand. Tim Frazier is doubtful with a shoulder strain and Reggie Jackson is out for the next month, meaning Bruce Brown should get the start at point guard again. Brown, Langston Galloway, Luke Kennard and even possibly Jordan Bone should all get some additional run tonight.
D'Angelo Russell (right ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday's game vs. Portland.
He's not expected to miss much time, but it does sound like there's a chance he won't play on Monday. The Warriors play four times in the upcoming week. Hopefully we get an update on his status prior to lineup lock. Kelly Oubre probable for Monday. Oubre is dealing with a sore right adductor and has been classified as probable ahead of Monday's contest.
Hassan Whiteside is probable in advance of Monday's game vs. the Warriors with a knee bone bruise. He sat out of Saturday's loss with the injury, and the Blazers went small with Anthony Tolliver and Mario Hezonja starting in the frontcourt.
Just wanted to add in this report:
Marc Gasol: He has been increasing his workload and we've heard some positive reports in that regard for the last two weeks. The Blazers will not be signing a player with Zach Collins (shoulder) sidelined indefinitely and will instead wait for Gasol to return to the court. In the meantime, look for Mario Hezonja, Skal Labissierre and Anthony Tolliver to pick up some run. Per twitter source
Per NBA.com Favors is a game time call..
Favors did go through shootaround but will see how his knee responds in warmups. "I’m talking to the trainers and listening to my body. I will see how I feel," Favors said. He added that he's been sitting out as more of a precaution so the injury doesn't linger throughout the season, so hopefully we'll see a rejuvenated Favors soon after a terrible start to the season.
Yoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Mornin - thoughts on Paschall today at $5k in DK? Thank you.
I'm terrified of all Warriors! Don't like their implied team total. I'm staying away.
Updates: Whiteside should be good to go.
Isaiah Thomas is on restricted minutes.
Wizards will start: Wizards will start Thomas, Beal, Bonga, Hachimura, and Bryant
Rodney Hood is available to play
Thanks Andy
Dieng confirmed as starting.
Pistons LU: Brown, Kennard, Snell, Morris, and Drummond
Brandon Clarke will play just to confirm
Favors is playing
