What do you guys think about giving up Christian Wood for Richaun Holmes? I can wait Holmes for a month or so but all I really care about fantasy playoffs. Which one will play better in 2 months?
100% do that deal if you're able.
Holmes is already at the point where he's realizing his upside. I think Drummond will get moved...but you can't call it a guarantee. Another non-guarantee: we don't know who Detroit would get back in that hypothetical deal, and whether that player would get chances ahead of Wood.
It is not even close. Holmes is a monster that does almost everything well, and he is the best frontcourt player of his team. Wood could be good if Drummond gets moved and his team fully embraces the tank, but even in the best possible case for Wood, their per-36 comparison shows they are very close, but Holmes still would be the preferrable player with more dominant defensive stats(3.0 stls+blks) against Wood's 2.4 and a tradeoff(Wood is a decent 3pt shooter while Holmes is a great big free throw shooter).
So, if everything goes right for Wood(which can easily not happen), I would still rather have Holmes
