Short version: drop Shy Gorgeous or Joe Harris for Hart or Ross to compete in 3s on Sunday?

Chef, I know you play the attrition game with players in H2H (not getting too attached to pick ups and whatnot), and I've been trying to do that more this year with my streaming spots. But I am feeling attached to Shy Gorgeous and Joe Harris, my pick ups this week, for next week too. I'm going into Sunday up 5-4, with good separation in the five I'm leading and competitive in the four cats I'm down, but I only have three players going against my opponent's five for Sunday.

When you stream, you probably account for this Sunday scenario earlier in the week. Starting out, I went for just total number of games played for the week instead of picking up guys loaded on slow days like Thursday and Sunday, complicated by the fact that I ended up with four players out on Monday (RoCo, Saric, Jarrett Allen, and Mirotic). With your willingness to cut at will, which seems logical, do you ever cut someone good for next week for a flier on Sunday? Specifically, would you cut Shy or Harris for Josh Hart or Terrence Ross to compete in 3s this week possibly sacrificing some good options next week?

I would do that. You probably only have a few minutes to decide, but Shy's upside and stat diversity is not high enough to warrant holding if grabbing Hart or Ross could potentially earn you another 1-4 cats. I think I'd go Hart with Rondo out and also Isaac is back so he'll cut into Ross' value, playing time.

I do this a lot on Saturday nights in my H2H daily leagues. If I have categories that I can win by making a move that night, I almost always do it...the exception being cutting someone I'm going to miss. Then, once the clock rolls to the next day, I cut that guy for someone I actually want, be it for a nice schedule the coming week or for decent ROS value.

In one of my matchups this week, I had potentially 3 swing cats that I could tip in my favor (assists, rebounds and points), so I scoured through the FAs for someone who could contribute decently in all those categories and settled on Evan Turner....but I don't like to tip off my opponent that I'll be trying to stack the deck a bit more in my favor, so I wait till RIGHT BEFORE the clock resets in Yahoo! leagues (usually 3:07 a.m. Eastern time) to grab my guy (Turner in this case) and then immediately at 3:08, grab someone I actually want to test drive...in the case of tonight, that might be Juancho Hernangomez or Mikal Bridges.

Thanks, Capt. I often do cut guys Saturday night too, but I think I got too caught up on these two options when Shy got the starting job and LeVert went down, potentially increasing Harris' opportunities. Someone did snag Hart just before me, and I didn't pulled the trigger on anyone else.

Thinking about Bryn Forbes for 3s tonight. What do you think?

Forbes is probably your best bet for 3's over Hart or Ross ... though Ross might see an uptick in mins if Isaac doesn't play as much on the b2b due to mins restrictions.

Watch the blurb feed/@hoopballfantasy for any updates on that front.

At times I have , especially if my team is already down some guys to injury and I'm trying to scratch out a few extra points. But for some guys, I'll just keep 'em if they have a loaded schedule next week and there's a chance I can compete w/out the add.

In your case I think it's fairly easy as Hart and Ross have similar value to Harris and a similar stat set with the 3s.

I'd do that (prefer Hart anyway) and keep SGA who has more upside ros.

Thanks, Dan and Chef. I talked myself into thinking I was keeping Shai and Harris when the better move was to stream, so I ended up swapping both for Ross and Forbes. Might regret cutting SGA, but also might be able to swoop him back up next week.
