Hey Chef,

You still holding onto Jonathan Isaac anywhere?

What about Mikal Bridges? Do you like him ROS?

Do you have any shares of Marc Gasol? Are you worried about him? Eric Bledsoe as well.

Thanks!

Chef I'm hunting FG% and REB but not necessarily BLK. Got an idea of some good trade targets or potential pickups?

I was thinking Sabonic, Collins, Adams etc but interested if there are other names out there

Hey Pape,

I had him in one and I dropped him last week. The plan was to wait for him to excel then trade (bad h2h playoff sched means I wasn't trying to keep him).

It looks like it will be very difficult to do that considering his play, I have Whiteside, JaVale and Brook so I don'd need the blocks so I'm washing my hands from him and not looking back.

I do like Mikal ROS for 3s and steals- gonna be a bumpy ride as a rookie but I think he holds value.

I don't have any Gasol but I have a few Conley and yes, I'm worried. Trying to trade him but guys are really low-balling me so might end up keeping him if I can't do better.

Not worried about Bledsoe; more disappointed. I think his value now (top-50) is the floor for the ros.

What's up Tama,

I like Sabonis best of the guys you mentioned as he has the lowest name value and probably the easiest to obtain (I'd think). Adams not bad either.

If the price for Doma or the other guys is too high, you can look into lower guys for cheaper- Julius Randle, Tristan Thompson or even *gasp* Kanter if his owner is freaking out- maybe when Mitch Rob gets back.

Hey Chef! I’ve been trying to trade a big all season to tighten up my squad but my league is struggling to bite. My team is:
DSJ
Hayward
Hield
Baze
Bogi (kings)
Love
Isaac
Tatum
Millsap
Ayton
Whiteside
Slomo
Tucker
Deandre Jordan
Mirotic

I’m in 12th place of 12 (H2H). Punting assists so been trying to get more steals and threes all year for a big. Was rejected for Dipo and Porter recently. I’m 1-12 in threes but I feel like part of that is due to injuries. Or should I be aiming promarily for steals instead of 3’s? Looking to trade Jordan since he doesn’t provide much in those 3 and D cats vs my other bigs and his value in other cats “should” net me something decent back. I offered him for Klay tonight to a team but I’m wondering if I should target Lonzo and Smart instead (one team has both)??

Chef- i've been stashing Miles Bridges as a potential keeper in our 16 team h2h daily points league but he's the weakest link on my 13 man roster and i'm seriously thinking he's too much of a luxury to stash given the potential wire pickups. De'Anthony Melton and Justin Jackson are available, as are Malik Beasley, Monte Morris, DJJunior, Monk, Mario Hezonja, and Jon Isaac... 3s are overweighted in our format. Who has the most upside as we point to the h2h playoffs which in our league is a five week marathon from early March to the end of the regular season?

Hey Bryan,

The problem is you have some key injuries which makes your margin for winning small, and on top of that you've been holding too many under-performers.

You mentioned an assist punt, and then steals and threes (Mirotic back will help a lot and so will Love, though he's a big shut down risk).

I have no idea how you;re doing in the other 6 cats.

Most importantly, what 5-6 cats are your best?

Let me know and we'll go from there...

In a vacuum, I would drop DSJ ASAP. Isaac would be next up. You've been missing out on guys like Siakam, Bryant, Bridges, Bjelica, Clarkson, White, etc.

Re: the bigs- if nobody's biting, you have to either up the offer or keep the player. DJ is not even close to as good Klay, no wonder he didn't accept.

You need to package DJ or Hassan with another player and try to get someone that will help your core cats if you've figured out what they are.

Hey, Mikal is top-130 on the season so if he'r your weakest link in 16-deep, you must have a beast squad and are winning almost every week.

Melton is only good when Booker is out and Jackson is hot now but usually a efficiency killer. Other guys meh when their teams are healthy.

Isaac maybe, but not a good H2h schedule.

If Bridges is really your worst player (which is really weird for your leeg-size), and you don't need the steals, I don't have a problem streaming him. It seems your wire is pretty deep for a 16-teamer so you can just stream week to week until you find someone that fits your build better.

GolLY, thats's a bitch of a playoff sched and Sacramento, Washington, Detroit, Houston, Denver, Utah and Cleveland stand out to me for teams with best scheds of those 5 weeks.

It's actually Miles Bridges not Mikal. Would dropping him for Melton or any others on the list be advisable?

Ya, my team is a mess. I definitely should drop Isaac though I've been avoiding the hot waiver wire bigs because I have plenty of them. We also have an add/drop limit of 30. I've held onto DSJ because he's my only PG and he is getting 1.5 threes and 1.8 steals a game plus his percentages are better this year, especially over the last 30 days.

My current cats record:
FG% FT% 3PTM PTS REB AST ST BLK TO
8-4-0 2-10-0 1-10-1 1-11-0 9-3-0 1-10-1 7-5-0 9-3-0 8-4-0

My strengths are definitely FG%, Rebs, Steals, Blocks, and TOs. In a vacuum I'd prefer to keep Jordan, but his lack of defensive stats aren't really helpful to me, whereas Whiteside's blocks are helping me win that cat most weeks.

I'm confused about DJ being not as good as Klay? Before last night's Klay explosion, they were only about 10 spots apart in the rankings? They just offer totally different stat sets. On top of that, the team with Klay is not built on threes, so Klay's threes are being wasted on that squad.

So should I target guys like Lonzo and Smart for their steals and decent threes?

Some background context: I've dominated this league for years (It's a 5-year keeper league currently in the 5th year), usually with the standard bigs and smalls strategy, but I got smacked with bad injuries last year (Boogie, Porzingis, Gobert, etc), so I tanked and traded for draft picks. Based on what my team looked like and where I was picking and the fact that there were no top PGs left, I decided to try this punt assists strategy for the first time. I went too heavy on the bigs and didn't get enough 3 and D wings though and have been struggled all year to fix my team.

Man, that's a tough one, if FG%, Rebs, Steals, Blocks, and TOs are your strengths and you're punting assists, I would say you need to try to make up ground against weak teams by winning extra cats but your records in the other 4 cats makes it hard to identify which extra cat to focus on.

I understand the idea behind DSJ but he's hurting you in efficiency and his 1.3 threes is neutral leaving a small benefit with the steal with an over all negative rating for your team. I know you need the position- maybe package DSJ for a larger steals guy like Ingles , then you could pick up a Smart, etc. off the wire.

the DJ thing is that he's been mostly trending down (top-80 last 2 months) since early season while Klay has trended up (top-30 last 2 months) and Klay just broke out. Not saying it can't be done, only the Klay owner is doubtful to do it. Maybe you can remind him in the note that the 3s are wasted on his team.

If you go for Smart or Lonzo DJ would actually be a good asset by helping support your FG%. Maybe DSJ for Zo and Isaac for Smart gets it done? (Isaac has zero trade value in my leagues).

And I get you- the add limits by season really prevent you from streaming day-to-day but maybe you can stream week-to-week (or every few) based on your opponent and their/your schedule- I find it really helps to pick up an extra cat or two.

Overall, I think you're going to have to do something fairly drastic to shake your team up. It's scary and you might have to pull some less-than-ideal deals, and/or make some tough drops, but to me, that's the only way I can see you attempting to move up into the playoffs.

Not sold on either ROS, so although I'm not for it, I'm not against it.

Isaac has the highest upside so I would probably go with him.

The Denver guys have a better playoff sched but when the team is healthy , their production should be very low. None of the other guys really move the needle for me.
