Hey Chef! First up thanks for all the advice and articles this season, it's really helped in my first season of H2H.
I'm locked in for 2nd in 12 team 8 cat H2H. Top 8 make the playoffs. My likely 2nd round playoff opponent has beaten me twice this season, last time it was 3-5 with minimal difference in all but 2 cats (closest cats I lost were ft, rebounds and points; I won 3s and steals convincingly)
My question is, how many streaming slots should I open up for the playoffs to push for the W, and who would you drop to open these up? 7 roster moves per matchup.
My team (punt fg build):
G: Harden, Jrue, Dunn, Lamb, Dinwiddie, Tyler Johnson
F: George, Ariza, Mirotic, Ibaka, Isaac
C: Horford, Whiteside
IR: Covington (hopefully close t a return!)
Much appreciated!
Hey Aaron, happy to hear I've been of some help.
Congrats on the 2-seed- it sucks that you are paired up with a difficult opponent in round 1 but that's how it happens sometimes.
First, I'd count up the games from the 2 weeks you two have battled to see how even the matchup was. If you had one or two games fewer it means you might have to stream more aggressively but if you had 4-5 fewer games than him, the losses could be largely schedule based.
Second, I'd do a games count for your upcoming matchup and do a quick stats projection. Pay special attention to his big producers and also the players he has that produce in the cats you need to win (ft, rebounds and points) and with the stat projection you can compare about how close (or far) you might be in each cat. If you have a lot more games you might not have to stream as much but if you're down games, you'll probably have to.
Third, if you easily won 3s and steals, you might be overloaded in these cats and might consider streaming some of that excess to make up for the stats that will be closer.
All that being said, Diniwiddie (4 games) or Tyler Johnson (3 games) would be the first guys I look at streaming.
Yo Chef!
16 teams, 9cats, H2H
My team:
Dragic, Collison, Louwill,
Middleton, Hield, Jingles,
Jerami Grant, Giannis,
Gobert, Capela, Sabonis, Javale, MitchRob
Target cats: Fg, Pts, Rebs, Blks, Asts, Stls
playoffs start next week and i want to know who is the drop on my team for my streaming spot? I know Dragic and Sabonis are both inj so probably one of them is the drop but lets say all are healthy and playing, who is the drop? TIA
waputs!
If every one is healthy, Dragic seems like the first guy to be streamed, assuming he won't be putting up 20 a game like his last two.
But on a deeper level, I would also consider JaVale. He's been outside the top-150 over the last 2 months, barely 125 over last two weeks, Lakers might start obviously tanking and he seems like overkill with blocks since you have Gobert, Capela and Mitch (and Grant).
Assuming you don't need the blocks all he helps you with is slightly with FG%. Help in 1 cat doesn't do it for me so he be first up if I had that roster.
Would you drop Dunn for Smart in a points league? Leaning to that cause Smart has better playoff schedule.
I would, and while Smart only has 1 extra game (4 vs. 3 in Week 23), that could be the difference.
Hi Chef,
8-cat roto, Wiggins or Rondo the rest of the way? I'm last in FG% and can't move up.
Thanks!
Heyn
In overall 8-cat punt FG Rondo has slight edge but at this point in the season in roto, it depends how much separation there is in assists and point and act accordingly.
(Rondo will help you gain ground faster in assists than Wiggins will in points, and there's probably less separation in assists, so I would go Rondo if that were the case.)
Thanks very much, really appreciate the advice.

Hi Eric, you need to go through the weekly logs and see how your team has fared against this team. That is your best clue. Also see general team stats- which categories have you won consistently? Those are your strongest cats.
Then count the games you and he will have in the finals- this is a clue which cats you can expect to be competitive.
Looks like you will have fewer games. You'll have to win with efficiency cats -fg, ft, to and defensive stats, maybe rebounds if you pick up another big man.
I would drop Gary Harris too, then Dunn if he starts sucking.
?
Thx u very much chef
