Yo if this thing still working ima shoot my shot. Dump nance for slomo or Cedi or Frankie smokes?
Nance is higher ranked than all those guys right now- changinf for Slo-Mo could be a horizontal move.
I wouldn't drop him for Cedi unless you're punting FG and TO.
Hey Ali thanks for doing the chat.
9 cat H2H 16 team league.
I'll keep it simple.
Siakam and Horford vs Isaak and Capela.
Thanks
No prob man,
In an h2h vacuum, I'm taking best player- Capela.
Thanks Chef! Ya, it will be hard to roster Barton for 6+ weeks without an IR, already without Love (if I can't move him), and with a 6-12 H2H record so far. I may grab Bogi (Sac) instead (seems like he has a similar stat set and could do well in Sac's new up-tempo offense), then try to get Barton in a few weeks. Though not sure who to drop? Slo Mo or Olnyk seem like my only droppable options? Those 4 steals from Slo Mo the other night were $$ though...ugh.
And who would you suggest to package with DSJ beside's Love that won't hurt my team? Jordan, Whiteside, Ayton, Milsap? Seems like Jordan is fitting in great in Dallas -- doesn't seem like a sell high. I love Whiteside's stat set for my squad, but he has injury history. And can Ayton hold up all year? Milsap seems like the best to trade, but I probably won't get as much for him compared to the other guys.
What pg would you target in return with that steals, treys combo? Jrue, Bledsoe, Conley, Ball?
Thanks so much!
Worried about the Donovan Mitchell injury last night? Thanks chef
Yeah I know, holding hurt guys not on IL is really a pain. If guys in your league don't tend to stash those guys maybe you can wait a few weeks before you try (Barton was top-30 before he went down, and while he won't be that goo, it shows what a difference he can make).
Yeah, probably would have to be one of those guys- if either Olynyk or Slo Mo throws up another stinker- you can probably make that chance- not likely guys will be rushing to ass Slo Mo / Olynyk anyways.
Yeah, Milsap is the worst of the bunch thus the first you want to trade. He and DSJ have good name recognition so maybe you can swing it (though not for the guys you mentioned). My first goal would be to get himm off my team so maybe you can do it for a less buzzy guy like Ingles , etc.
Yeah, hamstring issues tend to linger so I wouldnt be surprised if he misses a few games.
But what can you do - he wasn't playing well enough to sell high so just gotta hang on , hope for a speedy recovery, and if you have open spots, stream to keep from losing too bad until he gets back.
Great work on the Boxscore Breakdown last night.
Favourite team, favourite player and a hot take please.
Thanks Tama,
Nominally Bulls, although when you watch basketball to study the plays, it's hard to be a rabid fan.
Scottie Pippen. No fav among active players but excited to see all the young guys matured their games- Donovan, Embiid, Simmons, Luka, Trae, Lauri...
24-7 coverage makes a true "hot take" a difficult proposition but i'll say Steph wins MVP and KD is no longer on the team next year.
Good stuff Chef. Time for a fantasy question.
Whats your outlook for OPJ? Is he buy-low or are the issues in Washington just starting with Dwight arriving tomorrow.
Would you trade Kent Baze for him in an 8-cat roto league? (no advantage for limited turnovers)
That's a tough one man cuz you wouldn't even be able to benefit from Otto's h2h sched.
I think his rebs will take a hit, but I don't think his shooting will stay that low. And, there's the possibility Baze gets traded to a deeper team.
Based off last year 8-cat ranking, Porter still beat Baze so I think it's the safer move assuming his FG% returns to the mean.
CHef,
Thanks for the Rate your team input. At risk of starting a "re-rate my team" thread and burning you out....i'd appreciate your thoughts on the changes to squad since draft day.
Post draft the squad was:
James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, Marc Gasol, Nikola Mirotic, Will Barton, Taurean Prince, Myles Turner, Nicolas Batum, Jusuf Nurkic, Thaddeus Young, Mario Hezonja, Buddy Hield, Jeremy Lamb
Feedback at the time was generally strong, but big issues with FG and Assists.
Fast forward 2-3 weeks of hard trading and wire scouring and it now looks like:
Karl Anthony-Towns, Kawhi Leonard, Marc Gasol, Nikola Mirotic, Danny Green, Darren Collison, Joe Ingles, Myles TUrner, Jeremy Lamb, PAscal Siakam, Elfrid Payton (inj), Khris Dunn (inj), Will Barton (inj)
Fairly happy with the improvements, and sitting top 3 with 4-5 games in hand in the roto league (9 cat with game cap). Still last in assists, but saving a roster slot to cycle Payton/Dunn/Barton through at the end of the season which should make up ground. Appreciate your thoughts on the changes made, and where to from here?
Thanks alot!
Great job working the trade market, and I dig the changes you made- KAT for Harden was an inspired roto move that will pay dividends in the future, and not only with FG.
Yeah, assists are low because of injuries but Payton and Dunn should help there (Ingles too), but sure how much with Harden gone. That might still be a cat you look towards improving with other moves, but not at the cost of existing team balance which is great outside of dimes.
Ended up trading away Dedmon, Batum, and Forbes to get Prince and McCollum.
