Badly need a decent (ish) big. Top options on the wire are;
Cody Zeller
Dwight Powell
Poets
Damian Jones
What’s your order and why? Thinking of Jones for the upside but he may disappear when Collins returns
Tough one here, feel like there are a few different ways to look at this. Here's how I view it
1. Zeller
2. Poeltl
3. Jones
4. Powell
Zeller has the most consistent role of the bunch. His value is low right now because he's in a funk at the line. His career mark is about 10 points higher than his current 64% shooting there. Assuming that stabilizes he should finish the year somewhere between top-100 and 110.
Poeltl should be the number one option here but I have low confidence in the current state of the Spurs rotations. He's a great end of bench big when he gets consistent playing time though, especially with his propensity for high BLK numbers.
Jones has been surprisingly usable in 9-cat since being named starter 7 games ago. You identified the big issue with him though. Collins' return will take away minutes, lob opportunities and rebounds with him. He's so low-usage that those factors will likely kill him long term.
Powell has been a major buzzkill and I don't quite know if he'll be able to break away from Kleber to matter in fantasy this year. He was great when Porzingis wasn't around and they had no choice but to utilize him. But for now it looks like he's squeezed out.
Awesome take on it. Thanks man!
Happy to help!
How about adding Bamba to this list with tonight’s performance? Didn’t get many minutes but was productive
Nah I'm not that interested in him. He has upside but Vucevic doesn't look like he will be out long enough to be worth it
Just Zeller, the rest comes with a headache
