I love me some AD, that’s why I drafted him in the first place but his injuries are just stressing me out and I already had my share of injuries to start the season from jeremey Len to bev to tim
Now this is only my second in fantasy
But for the trades I usually add the stats up from both sides
And go from there
In this trade I don’t like because I don’t have much faith in Tobias
But both are averaging about 20 points 5 boards 2.5 3s
Decent FG%s and an elite free throw shooting
Now everyone is telling how horrible this trade is but I don’t get why
As promised, a lecture on trades:
When you're gauging the validity of a 2-for-1 trade offer, which is what you suggested on Twitter, you must not only tabulate the stats of the two guys and compare to the one, but you must ALSO calculate the other player you'd have to BENCH when the two new guys arrive.
So, it's not necessarily that AD by himself gets fewer stats than Tobias and CJ, but what about AD PLUS whoever you'd have to remove from your lineup to make room for Tobias.
For me, if I took on an extra player, I'd have to probably drop Jeremy Lamb or Al Farouq Aminu. In that case, you'd want to add THOSE stats to AD's to see how that compares.
In general, getting the ONE player that's better is the best side of a trade, because in general you can also find someone to slot into the open roster spot that's also putting up decent stats.
I see well in that case I would be dropping Wilson chandler as he’s my worst player so I think it won’t be worth it but just like today with AD out if he gets injuried I have no chance at competing but in your opinion what’s AD worth ?
AD is tougher now. He does his best to play through stuff. His recent injury looked awful and it's only cost him a couple games.
He's worth a boatload. If you don't get back a 2nd and 3rd rounder, it's not even close to enough.
Yeah I’m no luck getting back his value
But the guy who has Tobias and cj
Also has PG
Is PG considered a second rounder ?
Also cj and Tobias are late second to early third rounders or where would you rank them ?
And also I Appreciate your time and help dan
Thanks
George and McCollum would be a LOT closer to reasonable. Paul George is a 2nd rounder. CJ is underperforming a bit but one could argue he'll be a 3rd rounder when all is said and done.
For context... i suggested Jokic and Robert Covington for AD and was rejected. I was overpaying a bit, but that is the value of compressing stats into one player.
Also, dont only consoder the player you would drop but the upside poential of the spare slot for pickups off the wire.
