For those that are interested, I compiled a short team list for the first 150 picks of our Hoop-Ball overlords in the famous "30 Deep" because I'm a fantasy degenerate like the rest of you.
Source: Matt Stroup's article and Dan's podcast from yesterday
Bruski
Jimmy 20
Robinson 41
Oubre 80
Schroder 101
Dinwiddie 140
Eric Ong
Vucevic 25
Turner 36
FVV 85
Jingles 96
Tyus Jones 145
Dan
LMA 29
JJJ 32
Warren 89
PJ Tucker 92
Pat Bev 149
Don't forget the mighty Mike Passador! 🙂
Dan picked JJJ at 32?!
That seems very un-Dan-like.
It's true. Gotta take huge swings in 30-deep, especially if you have 29th pick out of 30 teams! (ugh)
I'm intrigued by the PJ Tucker pick over guys like Joe Ingles, WCJ, Favors, and Derrick White. Also, Gary Harris dropping to 114 seems pretty crazy.
Don't wanna give ALL my strategy away, but basically this rapidly became a punt-assists build, and it's only 8-starters (PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, Util), so I had no need for more bigs at that juncture.
Derrick White was someone I considered as a guard with nice %s, but I wanted steals, boards and some 3's, and PJ was the fit.
My team is leaning into a low-TO, both defensive stats, rebounding machine. Then just need FG%, FT% OR 3's to win a week.
I don't think you gave away any of Mike's picks in the podcast, hence his exclusion, but I'd love to add him in if you have his draft spot.
He's right next to Bru, though I forget which side. I think right after him?
I think you're right Dan it must have been after Bruski as the following team has 2 DBOMS and looks decidedly more Hoop-Ball than the alternative.
Here's Mike's team.
Mike (Panda) Passador
Andre Drummond 21
Mike Conley 40
Jeff Teague 81
Jarret Allen 100
Terrence Ross 141
I think Bru has the best build here. I love you Dan & Erik but I have to speak the truth. 🙂
Basically whoever has the earliest pick wins in this league. You almost never see a champ with a pick outside the top-15.
