I’ve seen this mentioned a lot on the forum and I’m relatively new to this so was wondering. Is the objective to be constantly adding players? Should I always have a spot I need to fill? I need to drop someone to add Lavine back onto my roster so would I try a 2-1 trade in order to clear space and at the same time upgrade or just drop one of my lower options for LaVine and stick with my squad that I’ve built?
You can think about it like this..
Imagine if Lavine is worth 4 cookies.
And you have a 2 cookie guy and a 1 cookie guy at the end of your bench.
If you drop the 1 cookie guy for Lavine's return, then you end up with 6 total cookies.
But, if you can trade your 2 cookie + 1 cookie guy for a 3 cookie guy...
then you can bring Lavine back to your active roster and have total 9 cookies!

Though actually getting a successful 2 for 1 trade is a wholeeeeee different thing, and very dependent on your league's willingness to trade, them also wanting to be the "1" in a 2 for 1, etc.
Yeah, in a 2-for-1, the only way it ever really works is if you trade a 3 cookie guy and a 2 cookie guy for a 3.5 cookie guy. And the assumption is that whoever you move into your starting lineup or pick up will be BETTER than a 1.5 cookie guy.

Ok so I’ve finished a pack of Oreos....
My league is pretty stingy on trades I think the likelihood of a two for one is slim. I don’t think I can move fox as he’s not really an asset. So thinking package up nurk and Niko and try trade then add Lavine. What sort of return should I aim for with nurk and Niko? Would that be worth it if I can get mid 60s to 70s return from them and take Lavine from my ir spot rather than just dropping ersan or fox for Lavine?

Niko alone is worth a top-60 guy. Nurk is basically worthless, so not sure someone wants him in a 2-for-1. Niko is a good first piece to put into the package, though.
Niko and another top-60 guy for maybe a top-40 guy?
Payton and Niko for Lowry or Derozan?
