Hey, guys. I usually play standart leagues with 13 players per team. But this year got a chance to jump in big money league vs weak opponents.
The thing is, there are 18 teams so they are only making it 8 players per team on yahoo 9cat h2h league. I was wondering if I should make any adjustments because of that on my draft day? Like making sure I got really good PG and C on first rounds as other positions are easier to get later on (some say this is always the case, I just usually go Dan Besbris style - drafting best players available) or any other adjusments?
Those 8 positions on team are - 1 PG, 1 SG, 1 SF, 1 PF, 1 C, 1 UTL and 2 BN with IL spot (which I also usually dont have in my leagues).
Any advice much appreciated, thanks!

Some thoughts... fewer positions (6 counting positions versus 10 in a normal league, and 2 bench spots in stead of 3) means that each players is more valuable. If one of your players suffers a significant injury, especially the top 2, you are toast. I would try to choose two players that are dependable in your first two picks (ie Kemba instead of Kyrie). Mitigate that risk which would destroy you.

This also makes it harder to be really competitive in 7, 8 or 9 cats because you have fewer players to balance out your weaknesses. You may have to be saavy about what you are punting or soft punting to ensure you are really strong in 6 cats.

Dang, we have 8 in 30-deep. 8 starters makes this deep league play a bit more like a 14-teamer. I still think you go best player available, but also use mock draft results to figure out what types of guys are usually around at your picks and build accordingly.
