Hi all. I will be playing in a 11 cat league. We were 10 but unfortunately one dropped out and now we are 9. More players to pick from! Cool I guess. I'm cool with playing for DD & TD but I think it's a suckers battle. Most players who DD tank FT. I'd rather play straight 9 cat mentality and Punt TD and compete in DD, with Towns as my 1st pick. I'm 4th in the draft. Also thinking of getting Rubio and Draymond for TD but hate zapping Towns FG value. Thoughts and advice?

I like Draymond in 11-CAT. His percentages can actually get better this season. Rubio is a target much later and will be a good second guard. Since both guys shoot at a relatively low volume, you can preserve your team's FG with a high-ish volume shooter from the field with good FG%. Marc Gasol, Klay Thompson, and Brook Lopez are sneakily overlooked when it comes to that.

Thanks. I was looking to get those players. They compliment Towns well. As far as TD's and my draft position (4th) I think it's best to not reach for Lebron as an example. Knowing my league, Westbrook, Harden are off the table. Draymond and Rubio are my best options by ADP so I'll see if they are there when the time comes but only if it's right. I've been glued to the pod and understanding value in drafting because of Dans advice. Thanks again. Big fan of y'all

I agree -- chasing TDs is a fool's gambit. DDs are very attainable, though, and not all those guys are disasters at the line. You could seek out guys early in the draft that are ultra strong in assists or boards as their 'best' skill.

Thanks Dan. The pod is great and I look forward to it everyday.
I'll look for those players with DD potential who don't hurt the percentages. DD's are out there. I'm sticking to the idea of best to draft a well rounded team and let the DD be a fun surprise rather than just trying to win the category. Boban could be a fun wire pick up. Rattle my opponents. I know that no one in my league is thinking this

Boban may have won me my league last year with those beefy games down the stretch. Wish Drummond weren't distinctly in his way..

Right?! If he just got a few minutes more it could be a very nice. I'm still thinking of grabbing him as my last pick. Looking forward to that pod today! Bru in the house! As soon as I'm done with work I'm going straight to the podcast. Y'all got me hooked. I'm supposed to be working now but I've got hoopball fantasy frenzy on my mind!

I'll post a rough draft of what I think could be a good 11 cat team. Would love to have others pick it apart

I'll try to bump the thread on twitter later on today, too. These forums are turning out to be quite fun!
