It’s Tuesday, the NBA has gifted us a seven game slate and we’ll be covering the main six game slate! The first slew of games is composed by the exciting Blazers @ the Hawks, tied for the highest O/U of the slate at 237.5 points, the Kevin Durant-less Suns @ the Bucks and a Sixers @ Knicks rivalry matchup that has each team in a polar opposite situation. Then we’ve got a Raptors @ Bulls matchup with a 236 O/U and with the Bulls on a back-to-back, the Warriors @ Grizzlies matchup tied for the highest O/U of the slate with 237.5 points and Memphis coming off a gruesome loss against the Boston Celtics and the Magic @ Spurs game where we’ll be cherishing every Chris Paul minute not knowing what’s to come next year. There’s a lot to get to, so let’s get started!

Franz Wagner
Position: SG/SF
Salary: $8,700
The Spurs recent defensive stats highlight Victor Wembanyama’s tremendous importance. Over the last 15 games, the Wemby-less Spurs have the 30th defensive rating, the 28th defensive rebound %, allow the 5th most 2nd chance points and the 7th most points in the paint. But Wemby’s impact also extends to the perimeter, as they’re allowing the 3rd most 3pm on the 4th best 3pt%. They’re a great matchup across the board, but the SF position is tailored to Franz Wagner’s strenghts – they allow the 2nd most points, 3rd most assists, 7th most threes and best fg% over the same time span. And even with Wemby in the lineup, Franz managed to tear up the Spurs with a 58.5 fpts performance on February 8th. Franz is only shooting 23% from three over his last 10 games, but he’s still managing to score 22.6 ppg on 45% from the field. And with the Spurs defensive stats, it’s feasible to believe that Franz can improve considerably on his recent three-point shooting. Add that to his 31.7% usage rate over the last 10 games, and we’ve got a fantastic performance brewing! He’s due for a positive three-point shooting regression and the Spurs statistical profile fit him better than Paolo Banchero ($9,900), who’s also a great option, but his price-tag could limit lineup construction, making the German star the preferred option.
