• Welcome to 2024 everybody! Hopefully 2023 was kind to you. Either way, we can all look forward to another trip around the sun, with all possibilities open.

The Knicks and Raptors gave us one last juicy story to talk about last year, with a big trade that has some serious fantasy ramifications that we’ll get to in a second. What it may signal in the bigger picture is the dam breaking in terms of player movement. The Knicks may have moved their two most appealing current players but retained enough draft capital to play in the trade market, while the Raptors appear set for a re-tool and have some guys on the roster that other teams will surely want to acquire — the Raptors were less than a sum of their parts due to fit more than talent.

There’s also one of the market’s biggest fish off the board in Anunoby, which means other teams could feel some urgency when it comes to making moves. While we wait for all that to play out, there’s still plenty to work with on the waiver wire. Who do we have this week?

    Top Adds

    Immanuel Quickley, G, Toronto Raptors

Run, don’t walk. Add him… quickly. Quickley had already proven his chops as a 12-team option last season, and the only reason he slowed down this year was New York’s offseason retention of Josh Hart and addition of Donte DiVincenzo. There were simply too many mouths to feed in that rotation, but he won’t have that problem in Toronto. The Raptors have been starving for guards and shooters, and Quickley checks both of those boxes. He should start for the Raptors, who also retain the right to match any offers he receives this summer as a restricted free agent. Quickley will be playing to prove that he’s worth a deal the Knicks wouldn’t give him, and the Raptors will love how he fits next to Scottie Barnes. You have to get him on your rosters where available.

    Andre Drummond, C, Chicago Bulls

Another clear-cut must-add player, Drummond is in the starting lineup for the Bulls, which means he should be in the starting lineup for your fantasy teams as well. He’s one of the few players out there who can essentially win you rebounds in a week by himself. The weaknesses are plentiful and not exactly news, but Drummond needs to be deployed when he’s playing this much.
