Check back every week as we rank the RBs ahead of their potential matchups. The position is as deep as ever, and you will want to know who start and who to bench based on matchup’s, projections and sometimes just gut feel.
RK PLAYER NAME TEAM OPP Blrub 1 Derrick Henry BAL WAS Henry is a TD machine is going against WAS team giving up 5.1 YPC. This has game of the year potential, but most of the damage will be done on the ground. 2 Saquon Barkley PHI CLE The week off is going to help, but getting back AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith will open up the offense. Browns have given up 5 YPC and eight TDs this season. 3 Bijan Robinson ATL CAR The ultimate get-right game as CAR has given up the most TDs to RBs (9) and top-three in rush attempts allowed, this team is a run funnell once the game script goes awry. 4 Jordan Mason SF SEA The Mason chain refuses to slow down and shouldn't make any stops vs. a vulnerable SEA rush D. RBs are gashing SEA and now they get one of the biggest and fastest. Only thing that can slow him down is the short week. 5 David Montgomery DET DAL DAL has allowed eight rushing TDs and with a banged up defense, they don't have the ability to limit DET on the ground or through the air. This is going to be an shootout and Monty will clean up. 6 Jahmyr Gibbs DET DAL This is how bad the DAL D is right now, both RBs are top-six options. DET should go up early and lean on the run game all day. DAL can keep pace, but they rank 31st in rushing DVOA. 7 Kenneth Walker SEA SF Walker wasn't used much last game, so short week won't be as punishing. SF has been run on this season at 4.7 YPC and that should continue this week. 8 Josh Jacobs GB ARI Jacobs finally scored and should again vs. a soft ARI rush D. ARI top-five in rush yards allowed with eight TDs. Should be a field day for Jacobs. 9 James Cook BUF NYJ Hasn't been used in rec game as much as GMs would like, but he's scored in three of five games and Jets are a team you try and run on before you air it out. Sneaky decent matchup. 10 Tony Pollard TEN IND Dream matchup as the IND giving up second most rushing yards. TEN doesn't want to pass in this game and should give Pollard all the work he can handle. He could be the RB1 this week. 11 Breece Hall NYJ BUF Something isn't right and if it doesn't get fixed soon, hell could break loose. The Jets fired their coach, which could do the trick. The Bills love giving up monster runs and Hall had two in Week 1 vs. BUF last year. 12 Alvin Kamara NO TB New QB means new offensive plan. Kamara had been thriving, but will Spencer Rattler look for him in passing game. Small question mark, but AK is QB proof. 13.0 James Connor ARI GB Connor has proved he is game script proof. He has at least 15 carries in four of the five games and while he didn't score last week, he has a great chance to get back on the board this week in a high-scoring affair vs. GB. 14 Chuba Hubbard CAR ATL Falcons top-three in rush yards allowed and CAR just needs to keep this game close to keep Hubbard involved, which may be harder said than done. 15 Najee Harris PIT LV LV allowing 4.9 YPC and defense is very banged up. PIT will keep leaning on Harris as long as game is close as he has at least 13 carries in each game this year. 16 Tyrone Tracy Jr. NYG CIN The breakout is real and he ran roughshod over SEA last week. He's a must-start player vs. sketchy CIN rush D which is top-five in yards allowed. 17 D'Andre Swift CHI JAC Left for dead after three weeks is now cruising. CHI has been aggressive targeting him in pass game and it's paying dividends. Went from a drop to must-start overnight. 18 Chase Brown CIN NYG Could get alpha duties of Zach Moss can't go this week which would send him to the moon. Giants allowing 5.1 YPC. 19 J.K Dobbins LAC DEN Terrible matchup as DEN only allowed three rushing TDs and tends to keep games low scoring. Still an RB2 due to explosive play potential. 20 Brian Robinson Jr. WAS BAL There three quality RBs on WAS and that's not even including Jayden Daniels. He got two scores last week, but worst matchup of the season here. High scoring affair though, but needs to score. 21 Rhamondre Stevenson NE HOU The talk of being benched was overblown and he's back as must-start as Pats pivot to Drake Maye era. Offense should get a nice boost and RS should get all the goal line work. 22 Tank Bigsby JAC CHI The Bigsby era is underway. Coach Pedersen said Etienne is the RB1, but that's a smokescreen. Bigsby is going to takeover very, very soon. 23 Travis Etienne JAC CHI Etienne hasn't looked good running the ball the last two seasons. He doesn't have over 70 rush yards in any game this season and is nursing a sore shoulder. He's still a start this week, but a tough one. 24 Jerome Ford CLE PHI Nick Chubb is coming and it could be this week. The Browns are terrible and Ford is okay. The Eagles are allowing 5 YPC and can be gashed on the ground. 25 Bucky Irving TB NO Irving showed out last week, but also had a costly fumble that might have cost TB the game. Rachaad White looked good and the timeshare is back on. 26 Rachaad White TB NO White might have saved his job with a massive run last week, but in general he will catch passes and Irving will pound the ball. 27 Rico Dowdle DAL DET Dowdly had a mini-breakout vs. PIT, but that will be impossible to replicate vs. DET. Look for other options this week. 28 Braelon Allen NYJ BUF The young gun refuses to go away and could see more work with Hall struggling. This could be a timeshare very soon. 29 Trey Sermon IND TEN Jonathan Taylor is likely to miss another game, but Sermon is not the answer. It might help his cause if Anthony Richardson plays. 30 Tyler Allgeier ATL CAR The best handcuff in football should see some extra work if the Falcons pull ahead early. He's a low-end RB2 this week with upside. 31 Javonte Williams DEN LAC Williams got loose last week as the DEN offense finally started cooking. LAC have only allowed two TDs to RBs and are at 3.9 YPC. 32 Cam Akers HOU NE Joe Mixon practiced this week and may return. Akers needs to score, but if Mixon can't go, Dare Ogunbowale is going to steal some carries. 33 Roschon Johnson CHI JAC He keeps scoring TDs as the CHI offense is finally off to the races. He's not a must-start as the Jags are decent vs. the rush. 34 Gus Edwards LAC DEN Edwards is a sit this week unless you are desperate. 35 Antonio Gibson NE HOU Gibson was supposed to take over some of the run game, but that didn't happen. He's still putting very solid numbers and is a great stash. Time will tell with new QB. 36 Emanuel Wilson GB ARI He's looking good every week, but Jacobs is an old school bell cow, decent stash for now. 37 Austin Ekeler WAS BAL Tough matchup, but could see some more work in passing game. This is the week to sit him. 38 Justice Hill BAL WAS He's slowed down after some monster weeks, but this is the week to get him back in lineups. Shootout incoming. 39 Tyler Goodson IND TEN Goodson is only here because Sermon isn't any good. Ideally you are starting anyone else. 40 Dare Ogunbowale HOU NE The HOU fourth string RB is making waves as a dual-threat back. He's only viable is Joe Mixon sits again.
