Week 15 Studs and TNF Confusion

  • STUDS

    1.  Josh Allen

Josh Allen continues to be the most impressive and yet crazy story in fantasy football. Over the last two weeks, he has hit 40 points with ease. That is just simply something unheard of regardless of the standard expected 20-point focus we try to align with at the quarterback position in this article. Ultimately, even the most skeptical among us find his MVP case so simple by just looking at his last month. The Bills are not even close to where they would be right now as a competitive Super Bowl contender without his play. For fantasy managers, it’s not just the fact that he’s an easy startable quarterback that makes him so fun it’s the fact that Allen at the quarterback position leads your team to victory more so than even your receiving or running back talent.

    2.  A.J. Brown (Written by Brandon Furtado)

It has taken way too long to finally get an A.J. Brown studs piece. The fact that it comes in Week 15 is insane, but that’s the way the cheesesteak has crumbled in Philadelphia this year. Spending every week writing about Saquon Barkley is fun, but it is a nice change of pace for his teammates to finally get their recognition. It is easy to forget that Brown is still a WR1 in fantasy and a borderline top-five receiver in football this year. He is 10th in receiving yards, 7th in 20+ yard catches, 5th in yards per reception and per game, and 2nd in yards per target through 15 weeks. Those numbers are even more incredible given how heavy the Eagles have relied on the run game this season.

Coming into the game this past Sunday, drama circled around the relationship between him and Jalen Hurts. The noise was silenced with a dominant performance by the entire passing game and Brown’s final stat line proved he is still elite. He tallied eight catches for 110 yards and a touchdown in a statement victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. If there is one thing people should know about the Eagles by now, it’s that they can never be counted out and they thrive when their wings are against the wall. So, if that’s what it takes for Brown and this offense to continue to soar, so be it. They like being the underdogs and there is no place like the City of Brotherly Love to bring out the best in the dynamic duo of Brown and Hurts.

    3. Davante Adams

With Davante Adams, it’s hard to write this piece without understanding that it sort of feels like a swan song for the connection of Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams. Adams is still a WR1, as he has undoubtedly been the bearer of consistency for this bad organization since the Week 12 bye, where he has an average of 28.76 PPR fantasy points. But it’s very important to recognize the situation the Jets are in. Even with Adams 100th touchdown catch on Sunday in his career, this Jets team is not looking to the rest of the year but more looking forward to 2025. You can feel it even in the players press conferences. It just hasn’t felt like a positive energy. The hope is that last week’s performance will provide a positive boost for this Jets team going into the last few weeks of the season.

    Rams vs 49ers TNF Dud

We didn’t end up doing an article for Thursday Night Football this week. Simply put, we are very confused about what happened, so we needed some extra time to think about what occurred. While, yes, some of it can be attributed to weather and an in-division rivalry. It continues to baffle how two very potent offenses, particularly with the Rams, just had nothing in the tank for Thursday night. Cooper Kupp, especially with zero in every major stat category, has continued to baffle us as watching the game showcases that he wasn’t even a part of the game plan. Yes, these things indeed happen, and we have talked about game script a lot throughout this season, but this one feels a little bit more bizarre than all of the rest. That said, the Rams are still in an excellent position, leading the NFC West at the time of writing. So, this offense should get back on track quickly versus the aforementioned Jets in Week 16.
