There’s been no consistency in Leipzig’s performances lately. While they dominated Dortmund with an excellent first half last weekend, they rode their luck in the second as Dortmund hit the post three times and could have easily changed the outcome. Leipzig has just two wins in their last 10 league matches and continues to show defensive lapses. Mönchengladbach, meanwhile, comes into this one on a high after a 4-2 win over Bremen in which Plea netted a hat-trick. However, they’ll be without top scorer Kleindienst, who is suspended, giving Cvancara a rare chance to start. The bigger concern is in goal as 18-year-old Pereira Cardoso will start due to injuries to Nicolas and Omlin. With Leipzig needing points to stay in the top-four race and Mönchengladbach in strong attacking form, this one sets up well for goals.
