Wyoming is just the better team, and more importantly, the better 1H team. This is a neutral game, so I’ll use their overall numbers. Wyoming 1H is +4 and N Iowa is -2.7. Wyoming plays better defense and that is the reason for the difference. Wyoming is one of the tallest teams in the country. They have a top 70 interior defense, and to make matters even better, a top 25 defense at the 3 point line as well. The good thing there is the 3 point line is where N Iowa likes to get the majority of their points. They’re a pretty mediocre 3 point shooting team, but that doesn’t mean they won’t try. I don’t see them having a lot of success today. On the other side of the court. Wyoming like to get the majority of their points inside the paint. Luckily, they shoot 58% inside the paint, good for 11th best in the country. N Iowa is 295th in defending inside the paint. They’re also really bad at defending the 3 point line, but that’s not nearly as important here. As long as Wyoming plays their style of offense, and has a modicum amount of success defending the 3 point line, Wyoming should cover this with ease.
