Check back every week as we rank the RBs ahead of their potential matchups. The position is as deep as ever, and you will want to know who start and who to bench based on matchup’s, projections and sometimes just gut feel.
RK PLAYER NAME TEAM OPP Blrub 1 Christian McCaffrey San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks Came back last week and saw over 80% of snaps, and should only see his workload go up. Jordan Mason was left to just one carry, completely uninvolved. Seattle allows the eighth most points to the position this season. 2 Joe Mixon Houston Texans @ Dallas Cowboys Mixon finished as the RB8 last week, which he has finished at or better in 5-of-6 full games this season. He's the RB2 in FPPG this year, and Dallas is giving up fourth-most RB fantasy points in 2024. 3 Saquon Barkley Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Commanders Barkley has been hit-or-miss in recent weeks but get's a great chance to hit against Washington, who allows the fifth-most rushing yards in the NFL this season and the sixth-most fantasy points to RBs on the year. 4 De'Von Achane Miami Dolphins vs. Las Vegas Raiders Last week was the first time that Achane failed to surpass 20 fantasy points in a game with Tua under center, and should be able to bounce back against the struggling Raiders. They allow the seventh-most fantasy points to RBs this season. 5 Derrick Henry Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers Henry remains the fantasy RB king as the only back averaging over 20 FPPG this season, though multiple players are capable of that bar for the rest of the season. The Steelers allowed three goal-to-go touchdowns last week, and Henry could have a shot at another big day. 6 Jahmyr Gibbs Detroit Lions vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Gibbs is coming off of a season-high 19 carries and currently stands as the RB6 with roughly 17 FPPG this season. The Jaguars are a bottom-five fantasy defense vs. RBs on the year. He has at least double-digit outings in every game this season. 7 Bijan Robinson Atlanta Falcons @ Denver Broncos Bijan is still on a heater, as his RB1 overall finish marked his fifth-straight game inside the top-12 at the position. Denver hasn't been the friendliest RB matchup, but they allow the fifth-most receiving yards to the position, an area that Robinson could find success in during the contest. 8 Kyren Williams Los Angeles Rams @ New England Patriots As Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua have returned to the lineup, Kyren Williams has coincidentally stopped finding the end zone, failing to score a TD in his last two games after scoring in every other game to open the season. Still remains a workhorse and gets a top-10 matchup vs. New England this week. 9 Breece Hall New York Jets vs. Indianapolis Colts Hall has been good in recent weeks but hasn't seen the insane usage we're used to getting from him, but hopefully he can bounce back against a Colts defense that allows the second most yards from scrimmage to opposing running backs in 2024. 10 Alvin Kamara New Orleans Saints vs. Cleveland Browns Kamara remains one of the best receiving backs in the game with at least five receptions in seven-straight performances. Cleveland allows the eigth-fewest fantasy points this year and are fresh off a Week 10 bye. 11 Jonathan Taylor Indianapolis Colts @ New York Jets Jonathan Taylor has been drastically better as a runner with Anthony Richardson manning the offense, who was re-named the starter this week. The Jets are much more beatable on the ground than through the air, and have given up five rushing touchdowns in their last four games. 12 Josh Jacobs Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears Before going into a Week 10 bye, Josh Jacobs averaged over seven yards per carry against one of the league's best run defenses in the Detroit Lions. He and his fresh legs get a date with the Bears this week, who allow the 13th-most RB fantasy points to date. 13 Chase Brown Cincinnati Bengals @ Los Angeles Chargers Chase Brown has looked pretty great since seizing the workhorse role of the Bengals' backfield as Zack Moss was declared done for the season. With back-to-back top-five finishes, there's definitely a case to put him higher on the already-star studded list. Although, the Chargers allow the third-fewest RB fantasy points in 2024. 14 David Montgomery Detroit Lions vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Montgomery remains one of the most consistent fantasy RBs in the league no matter how well Gibbs is playing. He also benefits from a great matchup vs. Jacksonville this week, and should be a near-lock for a touchdown after scoring his eighth in nine games last week, 15 Kareem Hunt Kansas City Chiefs @ Buffalo Bills With Isiah Pacheco back at practice, Kareem Hunt's lead back days are numbered. He's not expected to play this week, though, and Hunt should remain a workhorse against a Bills defense that allows the third-most fantasy points to ball-carriers this season. 16 James Cook Buffalo Bills vs. Kansas City Chiefs Cook is a very talented RB but runs into a brick wall against the best fantasy defense vs. RBs this season. The Chiefs haven't allowed an RB to exceed 12.2 fantasy points in a game this season, and only three have cleared the double-digit mark. Hopefully he can get involved in the passing game. 17 Kenneth Walker III Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers Walker had a season-high 28 touches in Week 9 before going into the team's bye last week. The Niners allow the 13th-most fantasy points and Walker finished as the RB13 the last time the teams faced off in Week 6. 18 Aaron Jones Minnesota Vikings @ Tennessee Titans Jones was a little banged up with a ribs injury last week, but appears to be trending towards playing in Week 11 vs. the Titans, who are a middling defense vs. fantasy RBs. The team could look to mix in Cam Akers a bit more to preserve the veteran back's health, but hurting his fantasy outlook. 19 Nick Chubb Cleveland Browns @ New Orleans Saints Chubb hasn't had a breakthrough game yet, but this could be it as NO allows the 6th most rushing yards. The bye week probably helped him more than most and I expect a monster here. 20 Rhamondre Stevenson New England Patriots vs. Los Angeles Rams Stevenson is only the RB25 in FPPG this season, but he's seen his usage tick back up and he has 20 carries in 2-of-3 games. The Rams have been much-improved defensively vs. the run, and currently stand as the 18th-worst defense vs. fantasy RBs this season. 21 Najee Harris Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens Harris has been great all season, but only averaged 2.5 YPC vs. a terrible WAS rush defense. Now he gets one of the best and he is going to keep losing carries to Jaylen Warren. We might have seen the best of Harris this season. 22 D'Andre Swift Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers Swift has at least 50 yards rushing in six straight games, but he needs to be invovled in the passing game to be a true RB2. He has zero receiving TDs, but has caught 26-of-30 passes and should get back to basics as Caleb Williams safety outlet. 23 J.K. Dobbins Los Angeles Chargers vs. Cincinnati Bengals Dobbins still saw 15 carries with Edwards back, but failed to score and had his worst fantasy finish in any of the last five games. Edwards is better for Dobbins long term, but short term he eats into his production. 24 Tony Pollard Tennessee Titans vs. Minnesota Vikings Pollard played 53% of the snaps with 13 touches and 63 total yards while also splitting the red zone snaps 50/50 with Tyjae Spears. Pollard is the better back, but he's breaking down and this game could go sideways fast. 25 Brian Robinson Jr. Washington Commanders @ Philadelphia Eagles Robinson has been a TD machine this season and is back after missing two games, but PHI has become elite vs. the run and there won't be many open running late on TNF. You have to start him, but lower your expectations. 26 Jaylen Warren Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens The Ravens are great to pass against and terrible to run against, so Warren isn't a great move here, but he's been ramping up with at least 40 rushing yards in three straight games and could be peaking while Harris is fading. 27 Rico Dowdle Dallas Cowboys vs. Houston Texans Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy said Rico Dowdle is “the lead back” while adding that Dowdle “needs to touch the ball.” That bodes well for an offense that will take anything positive this season. 28 Audric Estime Denver Broncos vs. Atlanta Falcons Last week, Estime led the way for the Denver rushing attack, playing 45% of the snaps with 14 carries and 53 rushing yards. Let's see if its a pattern or an outlier. 29 Jerome Ford Cleveland Browns @ New Orleans Saints The Saints are a run funnel and this could be the Nick Chubb breakout game, but expect Ford to get some work as well. Ford should be able to do more with less vs. a terrible NO run defense. 30 Travis Etienne Jr. Jacksonville Jaguars @ Detroit Lions The Lions are one of the premier pass funnels in fantasy and Etienne can't rush well against bad teams. The Jags will be down early in this game and Etienne might get phased out. Look elsewhere if you can. 31 Alexander Mattison Las Vegas Raiders @ Miami Dolphins Mattison isn't good and he needs the checkdowns to establish a fantasy floor. He had zero grabs last week and five the game before, so anything is possible. 32 Austin Ekeler Washington Commanders @ Philadelphia Eagles Robinson is the clear lead back, but coming off an injury, expect more of a timeshare. Ekeler just scored two TDs and WAS should be in negative game script most of the time. Sneaky value in this game, but Eagles are elite defense. 33 Raheem Mostert Miami Dolphins vs. Las Vegas Raiders He had zero carries last week and while that won't happen again, it's not a great indicator of how MIA values Mostert. He's still got upside because De'Von Achane isn't a tank, but he's a hard start in his current situation. 34 Gus Edwards Los Angeles Chargers vs. Cincinnati Bengals Edwards earned 11 carries last week and we know the Chargers want to pound the rock. The Bengals are decent vs. the run, but Edwards isn't a bad flex option this week since you know the volume should be there. 35 Tyjae Spears Tennessee Titans vs. Minnesota Vikings Tony Pollard is banged up, so Spears is getting more run, but no one runs well vs. the Vikings. Spears is a stash, not a start. Click here to join us on Discord! And Follow us on Twitter by clicking here
