    Kenny Atkinson and the Nets have mutually agreed to part ways.

    A Saturday morning shocker that comes out of nowhere as the Nets are currently sitting in the 7th seed in Atkinson's fourth year as head coach. The Nets improved in each of the prior three seasons under Atkinson and finished two games over .500 last season although they did regress a little this year, currently sitting at six games under .500. He has been been praised as a strong player developmental coach that communicates well with his team so he should field some calls from other clubs. Jacque Vaughn is expected to serve as the head coach for the remainder of the season.
