Gordon HaywardSF, Boston CelticsGordon Hayward has been diagnosed with a Grade 3 sprain in his right ankle and will miss the next four weeks.
Hayward sprained his ankle after landing on the foot of teammate Daniel Theis late in Monday's game. While he's out, it's possible that the Celtics promote Marcus Smart to the starting lineup, though Semi Ojeleye and Grant Williams are also choices that Brad Stevens can turn to, with Ojeleye earning that role in the past. Hayward was also expected to leave the bubble some time in September when his wife is slated to give birth, so there's another absence coming up if they don't overlap. It's a big blow to the Celtics' depth.
