Alex Caruso will not suit up for the team's first scrimmage on Thursday vs. the Mavs due to a back contusion.

The Lakers are already without Avery Bradley (opt-out) and Rajon Rondo (thumb) in the backcourt so they will dive even deeper into their depth on Thursday. Quinn Cook will likely see significant minutes on Thursday while newcomers Dion Waiters and JR Smith are also in line for some additional run. This seems to be precautionary for Caruso and we should expect him to play meaningful minutes off the bench when the games count for real.
