Meyers LeonardC, Miami HeatMeyers Leonard intends to sign a two-year deal with the Heat that includes a team option, per Tim Reynolds.
Leonard began last season as a starter but fell out of the rotation as the year went on, and he will likely operate as a depth option this time around. Last season proved that he could adequately fill in as a starter and the Heat should be happy with him as an insurance policy, while the team option should preserve flexibility for next offseason. Reynolds has since added that Leonard's deal will start around $9 million, and his agents have said the second year will push the total value up towards $20 million.
