Shams Charania has reported that Kai Sotto, a 7-foot-2 center from the Philippines, will forego a stint in the NCAA and instead will join the G League's Southern California team.

Sotto is the latest prospect in a batch of youngsters who have opted to take a G-League route towards a potential gig in the NBA. Sotto joins talented players Jalen Green, Isaiah Todd and Daishen Nix in the developmental league. However, Sotto is the first big-named international prospect to jump into the G League as a staging area for the 2021 draft.
