Giannis AntetokounmpoPF, Milwaukee BucksGiannis Antetokounmpo has been awarded the Defensive Player of the Year for 2019-20, according to Shams Charania.
This is the first time Antetokounmpo has won the award, beating out Anthony Davis and two-time award winner Rudy Gobert. Also the favorite to win the league's MVP award, Antetokounmpo polled 75 out of a possible 100 first-place votes to run away with the award. Despite only averaging a combined 2.0 blocks and steals, his presence on the defensive end of the floor cannot be denied and he is certainly a deserving winner.
