Rudy GaySF, San Antonio SpursRudy Gay was just a top-196/201 per game player (8-cat/9-cat) this season as his role was reduced to 21.5 mpg.
Gay had a solid bounce-back campaign last season, but the Spurs had more options to choose from in 2019-20, and that allowed more dynamic lineups to emerge without the 12-year veteran. Gay's inability to nail shots from deep (1.0 3-pointer on .314 percent shooting) does not mesh well with the Spurs' best players. Without a larger role in the lineup he figures to be more of an 18-team option. For restart purposes, he should be considered a fringe option in standard leagues with LaMarcus Aldridge (shoulder) and Trey Lyles (appendicitis) sitting out.
