Buddy HieldSG, Sacramento KingsBuddy Hield was good for top-50/65 (8/9-cat) fantasy value in 2019-20, with declining efficiency hurting his stock.
Hield went from .458 to .429 from the field, though he was able to set a new career-high with 3.8 triples and 0.9 steals per game and only saw modest declines in scoring (down to 19.8 from 20.7). His rocky relationship with Luke Walton was the dominant storyline of his season and eventually he moved to the bench, which luckily didn't impact his production all that much. Between that turmoil and Sacramento's stylistic changes, it's hard to imagine how things could've gone worse for a player of Hield's abilities — and he still finished solidly in the middle rounds. Walton's decisions are going to have a major impact on the Kings' fantasy values going forward but this should serve as a nice baseline for Hield. If the team gets back to its run-and-gun ways, some improvement would definitely be in order.
