I got offered Sabonis for Bol Bol.
9cat H2H.
I need the blocks from Bol Bol but at the same time Sabonis is a buy low right now I think.
thoughts?
Nvm. The trade was my Bol Bol & D. Ayton for Sabonis. HARD NO
14 team 9cat H2H - punting pts and 3s
Should I drop Caleb Martin or Zach Collins?
Thanks
I'd drop Collins since his mins tend to be way lower and you can kinda play the card that way but honestly those are both streamer-level guys ranked within 7 slots of each other in an area where a decent game moves a guy 30-40 places right now. So yeah, doesn't really matter.
Would you swap anyone out here for Cam Johnson? 10 team, 8 cat, most likely guys are probably JC/JV/Bol but they're all contributing pretty well right now. I do need another SF for roster purposes but eh...
PG: Trae, Kyrie, Jrue
SG: Shai, Smart, Clarkson
SF: Keldon
PF: Collins, PJ Washington, Jabari, Vanderbilt
C: Kristaps/Bol Bol
IR: JJJ (only 1 IR spot)
Is J. Sochan a must roster ros with all the injuries in SA? 12T9catH2H
Hi all, im in a 12T 9Cat H2H league. I ended up with a really balanced build for my team and am feeling like im screwing myself over by not solidifying my cats and punting more than just TO. Here is my roster
Kevin Durant | BKN | SF/PF | ||||||
Dejounte Murray | ATL | PG/SG
Myles Turner | IND | C | ||||||
Robert WilliamsIR | BOS | C | INJ 40g
SAS | SG/SF | OUT | ||||||
Cade Cunningham | DET | PG/SG
Gary Trent | TOR | PG/SG | ||||||
Brandon IngramIR | NOR | SF/PF | INJ 1g
Jakob Poeltl | SAS | C | ||||||
Buddy Hield | IND | SG/SF | ||||||
Jarred Vanderbilt | UTA | PF/C
Nicolas Claxton | BKN | C | ||||||
Lonnie Walker | LAL | SG/SF
Max Strus | MIA | SG/SF | ||||||
Tyus Jones | MEM | PG | ||||||
Davion Mitchell | SAC |
PG/SG |
Right now I am
- Elite at Blocks
- Good at Steals
- Average at AST, 3PM, PTS, FG%
- Below Average at FT%, REB
- PUNT TO
I feel like my paths forward are to.
1. PUNT FG: Trade one of Poeltl & Claxton (maybe both) for players who dont kill my FT% and Punt FG% and TO. Maybe even REB too.
- Cons: I feel like that reduces the value of Robert Williams when he comes back
- Cons: Lots of teams in my league are punting FT%
- Pros - Trading one will get me into good standing in FT% and I will still be elite at Blocks with Turner
2. PUNT FT%: Trade Buddy Field and Gary Trent for players that still get me good points but much better FG% and work on a Punt FT%
- Cons: Feel like that doesn't take advantage of Durant's premium FT% abilities and there are just a lot more players to trade to get to respectable FG% with the Giannis team and so forth.
3. PUNT REB: Not sure how to do this effectively if i trade Poelt or Claxton. Maybe figure out how to get Brook Lopez? Would you do Poeltl for Lopez straight up at this point?
Would you swap anyone out here for Cam Johnson? 10 team, 8 cat, most likely guys are probably JC/JV/Bol but they're all contributing pretty well right now. I do need another SF for roster purposes but eh...

In a 10-teamer, those end-of-bench moves don't end up impacting much. See if you can pair Vanderbilt and Collins and go try to get a top-25 guy to clear out a roster spot.
Is J. Sochan a must roster ros with all the injuries in SA? 12T9catH2H
I'd rather use today as a data point.
PJ Washington or Olynyk ros? 9catH2H
PJ (and that's coming from *ME*)
@daniel-benny Fantastic question, and thank you for explaining your thought process so thoroughly.
You might not like my answer and I'll let other people weigh in, but I would let this ride a little bit. I rarely punt in my own leagues and prefer a balanced approach. I think if you try to hard punt things now you're going to end up short of the teams that drafted for the same build, and more broadly I think this team, once everyone gets up to speed, is going to beat just nearly anyone it comes across.
It really depends on how you want to play it. If you want to win the same five categories every week, then you're going to have to trade -- if you want to win any five categories any week, then I think this team is capable of that. This collection of players likely beats out any other "balance" teams and I think you'll end up outperforming most of the hard punt teams too, it's just that your victories will look different every week. Your squad should beat most teams that sold out to win the big man categories, for example -- you'll still win blocks and should have better points, assists, triples and steals. If you're playing small teams I think you've got enough to win rebounds and FG%, in addition to blocks and possibly steals and TOs, with a scoring core that should hold up against most teams.
You'll have some toss-up weeks but in the big picture I like what you've got.
I wouldn't trade Poeltl for Lopez, no. My initial thought would be to maybe trade Vanderbilt for someone who's going to give you more triples or assists? Or try and scrounge up some more rebounds on the cheap. Rebounds look like your swing category to me but beyond that, I don't see a reason to tweak this team yet. Give it a little more time here because I see just about everyone outperforming their draft slot.
@mikepass Well that definitely gives me confidence and helps quiet my mind. I think having those Claxton Poeltl screwing up my FT% really got to me because it feels like im leaving wins on the table (addition by subtraction). But I hear you on waiting it out.
The one guy I feel like I need to move fast though is Hield as I really feel like this dude cannot stay at the value he's at (he's shooting at a crazy 60% eFG, and and .464 from the field, and 43% from 3). He's been there before (doing similar things in 2018), but idk if I can trust that.
Last question, if I had a trade of Claxton and Hield for Holiday available is that a deal you jump on or is the consolidating value here outweigh by the amount of balance im giving up (one FG% and one FT% guy for one whos average at both).
@daniel-benny If you can turn those guys into Jrue, you do it 10 times out of 10. Sorry to jump in on Panda's thread, haha
@daniel-benny I mean Claxton and Poeltl will definitely cost you free throws most weeks, but they'll also secure blocks every single week so you're still getting out in front of things a bit. One of the reasons I floated moving Vanderbilt is because he's dragging your FT% and not necessarily guaranteeing you wins in rebounds (though I think he'll continue to get better over the season, so he might be a nice piece of the puzzle there).
I think Hield will definitely slow down but he's not playing so wildly above his head that he's going to crash, and right now he's doing that in just 29.9 mpg -- if (when) he gets traded I'd bet on the playing time increasing, though you never know what happens. So you'll have to weigh the percentage dip vs. some eventual volume gains.
I would absolutely take Holiday there. He's better than average at FG% (over .500 for two years running out of a PG spot is crazy good) and you're getting a big lift in FT% -- Hield and Claxton should combine for about .620 at the stripe (doing some quick math, assuming 1.5 FTM/4.0 FTA for Clax and Hield hitting his career averages of 1.3 FTM/1.5 FTA). You should still have enough blocks to be elite even without Claxton, and Holiday pushes you forward in assists while you make a big gain in FT% and shouldn't lose too much in FG%. In most cases you want to take the best player in the deal and you do that pretty significantly here, plus you can use that extra roster spot to stream based on your matchups.

I like that package of Claxton and Hield for Holiday and I'd go for it.
@dbesbris thanks for the attempt to answer this question!
