Hi,
I play in a H2H auction dynastie league (9 cats). After several years playing without a real punt strategy, i've decided to punt agressively (FG%, BLK, TO).
I will put my focus on PTS, 3PM, FT%, AST, STL and hope to win 5 out of 9 every week.
My keeper: Lamelo Ball, Haliburton, SG Alexander, Mikal Bridges, M. Porter Jr.
My question:
Do you have any advice to help me determined which player will hurt my team in FT% ?
For exemple, Christian Wood could be a target for me but his FT % seems low (62,3%) and he had 4,9 attempt last year per game so good volume too.
The high FT% guy among PF/C are limited. And, in auction league, they are often pricey.
Thanks.
Hey Pierre, I'm going to answer this NOT so much as a dynasty reply, but rather... are you sure you need to punt FG%? Hali, Bridges and Porter are all high FG% guards and wings. If you add a big with strong FG% even if they don't block shots, you're very much not punting FG... just food for thoughts.
@dbesbris yes, good point. Will see during the draft if i can stay good in FG%.
On the FT% front, any advice?
All of those guys can shoot the FTs. You're in great shape with that as your base. Might want to shift your punt to boards/blocks, or maybe even just blocks as you attack the big men on the board.
Hey Dan,
H2h 12t 9cat. #2 pick why are you leaning KD and does injury/age scare you?
@scarmabel Not scared. He missed almost all his games last year due to 1 bigger injury. Now, if you're leaning into a punt I can understand some of the other options, but nobody has the per-game upside of KD at 2. And everyone keeps trying to sell me on Giannis playing every game. He doesn't do that any more, either.
@dbesbris thanks. I agree his per upside is top notch. His last 3 yrs just got me worried with injuries. This is a 2C league, any thoughts with embiid over KD here?
@scarmabel Yeah that would certainly be an argument for it. If you go KD, you probably end up going someone like Sabonis or Adebayo in the 2nd... or Vuc a little early... there are other paths. I think I'd still go KD and worry about the centers later. There are a couple late ones I like, and someone will probably get to you in the 2nd-5th rounds too.
