Narrative: 26 year old Kevon Looney appears to be breaking out.

Supporting evidence:

- Role/Minutes: Since cutting Wiseman from the rotation, Looney has played 21, 29, 30, and 18 (blowout but on pace for 30) minutes and has been in closing lineups. The role appears to be entirely his.

- Assists: Looney is averaging a career high 3.2 ast this season and it's feels real. GSW are 4th in the league in hand-off frequency and 3rd in points made off that action. Looney has been successful in facilitating handoffs particularly with the second unit. Additionally, he's adept at making the extra pass having played in the GSW system for 8 years now.

- Rebounds: In his first healthy season last year (82 games), he averaged a career high 7.3 rebounds in just 21 minutes. His per 36 matched the likes of guys like Jarrett Allen and Domantas Sabonis at 12.4. He's a positive in the rebounding category.

- Defensive Stats: This area of his game is why I consider him on the cusp. Once upon a time prior to his nerve injury in 2019, we were all enamored by his 1.3 STL/per36 and 2.2 BLK/per36 and 1.1 STL/per36 and 1.3 BLK/per36 the two years prior. In recent years, the defensive stats have fallen away along with his fantasy relevance. However, since securing the role, he appears to be extra motivated on the defensive end of the floor averaging .5 steals and 1.3 blocks in the last four games (compared to his putrid .3 and .4 on the season). Let's keep watching.

- Scoring: Yeah, not happening any time soon

- Turnovers: Most folks playing H2H ignore turnovers and for good reason. However, in specific builds/formats this man is elite. He leads the entire league in AST - TO ratio chillin at 6.4. Now that's not going to stick but is encouraging to see.

Overall, I think he's a prime watch candidate. If you are punting points like me he's been a dream to manage lately. Top 100 season incoming for Kevon Looney baby.

I like the argument! I think ultimately they run Dray at 'c' more and Looney had some good matchups/games, but it's not out of the question for him to get into that schedule-streamer zone
