AD is back! Back from a knee injury that saw him sit for 17 games and he started out the game with a bang!
JC is on this solo edition to go over AD’s return, and have the Lakers solidified their rotations with guys who aren’t named LeBron, Westbrook or AD? Possibly! Listen to see who JC thinks needs to be on the floor at all times for this Lakers squad.
It’s Lakers trade season! Fire up the ideas, bring on the banter, and allow the fellas to bring in a very special guest from the Sports Ethos family: Steven from The Bird Rights Podcast!
Steven brings his salary expertise to Laker Nation to see what’s plausible for this group as Ethan and JC try to figure out how more change will help calm the waters.
We talk Jerami Grant, Myles Turner, Russell Westbrook, and…Ben Simmons?!?!
Stick around for a crossover episode that’ll leave you feeling like Allen Iverson.
Will the real Lakers problem please stand up? Can Russell Westbrook be fixed? Is Frank Vogel a dead man walking?
Ethan is back on a solo ride to take on these questions and what faces these Lakers as the club tries to (again) get back on track with some level of sustained success. The effort question remains a big one, and there’s no guarantee that a short or long-term solution is in the cards for this particular group.
With an outstanding win, and a candidate for the NBA’s Dunk of the Year by none other than Russell Westbrook, have the Lakers turned things around? Possibly!
JC takes us through maybe the biggest win of the season, Stanley Johnson’s big night, and updates us on some of the team’s injuries on this solo edition of the pod.
The Lakers lost again, and it’s the end of the world again! But the way they lost, it just illustrates that there are still many problems in Lakerland, including a possible unhappy Russell Westbrook.
Could it be the best thing for both sides if there was a parting of ways? What trades might the Lakers be looking at? JC has those answers for you and more in this solo edition of the Ethos Lakers Podcast!
Just like Stanley Johnson, the boys are back in town!
JC and Ethan return to chime in on the Lakers 3-game winning streak, the fast-approaching halfway point in the season, the everchanging Lakers roster, and so much more!
From the trade of Rajon Rondo to the rumors swirling around DeAndre Jordan and Kent Bazemore, JC and Ethan take you through it all while detailing what it was like to see the LakeShow in person over the last few weeks.
The fellas tease a DeMarcus Cousins return, Kendrick Nunn being around the corner and more in this episode of the Ethos Lakers podcast.
Ethan returns for a long anticipated and much required update in Lakerland, where LeBron remains King but the power of his kingdom has come into question. Ethan dives into the Lakers roster iterations, the changes that have happened, the ones still needed, and so much more on this overdue update on the @EthosLakers pod!
The Lakers fall short after making an impressive 4th quarter comeback vs Brooklyn. They’re still short-handed, and new Lakers made their debuts, but the story is still the same. Effort, effort, effort. What can The Lakers do from here on out? JC tells us what could be on the horizon.
On a day in which The Lakers roster was halfway depleted due to health and safety Covid protocols, they played The Minnesota Timberwolves while also debuting the new addition of another former Laker, Isaiah Thomas, making his return from an outstanding G-League debut.
The Lakers are in the midst of a serious COVID outbreak, but that didn’t stop rookie Austin Reaves from delivering the shot of the season! Plus, IT’s back with Russ in protocols! Ethan has this ridiculously overfilled Lakers report.
No LeBron James, no problem for the Lakers? If only it was that easy. Despite missing the King (protocols) for the indefinite future, the Lakers look poised to lean on Anthony Davis in order to try and turn the corner.
Ethan and JC are back to discuss the emergence of Malik Monk, the absurdity of the emphasis on Trevor Ariza, and the importance of AD as a vocal leader. The fellas also touch on DJ, Rondo, and more on this go-around of the Ethos Lakers podcast.
Where do we even start? The Lakers are playing an indefensible brand of basketball, they are completely disconnected as a team, and the effort looks laughable on most nights. The 3OT best worst game of the season was the Lakers poorest showing of the campaign, and while firing Frank Vogel is sure to be a hot Lakers topic, making a change at the helm doesn’t repair the roster. We’re officially past the point of patience, the Lakers are just not a very good basketball team.
Join Ethan on a solo ride of the ETHOS LAKERS podcast to welcome Festivus and the airing of our grievances.
As the Lakers world turns, times are not great. But the show’s got a new name, and maybe the Lakers have turned a corner for the best. Despite the lowest moment of the season on Sunday with LeBron’s ejection, and another loss vs NY with LeBron suspended, happy days might be around the corner. Maybe. JC runs this solo edition of the newly crowned SportsEthos Lakers Podcast!
The short version is simple: On a Lakers team that’s changed its parts once again, a lack of cohesion fails to promote an environment in which the sum can be more than its parts.
In other words: The Lakers are playing off talent alone right now, and that’s not good enough at the NBA level.
LeBron’s coming back and THT is on fire, but that’s all the good news coming from Lakerland right now. Ethan’s solo ride takes you on a cruise through the current state of the Lakers and why those seated on the plane should continue to expect turbulence for the duration of this flight.
Coming off of what was unquestionably their best win of the season, the Lakers’ season can be summarized in one of two ways: the pessimist says they’re just 7-5 with a ton of questions, injuries, and a lot to be desired. The optimist says this team is just two careless games away vs. OKC from a 9-3 record and nobody would be talking about any of the items that are currently conversational bullets. The realist knows it’s all somewhere in between.
For the first time all season, the Lakers played with a team cohesion from start to finish in the win vs. Miami, the role players really stepped up to the plate, and the full Russell Westbrook experience is both why the Lakers won and almost lost all in the same swoop.
Ethan returns for a solo show to talk about all of that, the Alex Caruso story that will not go away, and much more in 30 action-packed minutes of the Hoop Ball Lakers podcast.
